Highly entertaining. I was glad that I had read the intro notes. A few really, really crazy tricks, which were used quite cleverly. Strong "yes" vote from me and my wife.

The run turned out amazingly well. Thanks to all of you guys and gals who put in time to make this so entertaining (especially MrGrunz)! For those who haven't seen it yet, here's a link to the submission: http://tasvideos.org/3194S.html

Hyper Infinite Wall Jumps are taking over SM64. Thats all I gotta say. O_o
I remember the days when we only had Regular Infinite Wall Jumps, and they were a lot classier.

Wow, this game just sucks for TASing now with crap like this. Back in my day, it was more like really high quality console playing. Those days were better.
I read this comment as a joke at first. Is it possible that you wrote this in a non-sarcastic manner?

I just realized that I'd really love to see a "most annoying camera" run that can match the current record time. Has anything like this ever been done before?

This "Brian" guy should just post his new strategy.

The only way to settle this murky dispute is through a challenge...to beat Super Mario 64...as quickly as possible. Also, to not make each new submission a huge event.

How are we being secretive? We posted two thirds of our run right there...:P
That's a pretty good point! I guess that I just expect you guys to post encodes of every new time-saving strat on YouTube. But you know what I mean...like, how long ago did you guys figure out the new BitFS route? You obviously have no obligation to share new strats, but it seems like the quickest way to achieve the fastest time on what seems to be a close-to-optimal run would be to put as many heads together as possible...just look at Linux.

Love this new run! Super Mario 64 is what got me into watching TAS, and this has some great fresh tricks...I liked the little camera bloop during the intro, and that final BLJ in BitFS shows the type of creativity that makes these runs great. It's just too bad that you guys are so cliquey and secretive about your new strats, favoring more defined accreditation over a "communal" method that has every advantage short of the motivation created within ego-driven competition. Where's the heart, Joopy?

Oh, man. Mr. Grunz: very nice work. I especially loved all of the little side-hopping moments. I think that your brain is nicely wired to TAS Zelda games. There are so many little details that demonstrate your love of, not only this game, but the process of of making the run. Really fun to watch for somebody with great memories of the N64 Zelda titles. Still can't wait for the final run!

Loving every update from MrGrunz and others. I really like the Stone Tower gap skip, and I can't wait to see what you do with the turtle/water temple in the final run. You should take as much time as you want with this run, MrGrunz, but please keep posting new TAS videos on your YouTube whenever it's appropriate :)

I liked it. Looked pretty solid, and I liked all of the zombie-shooting. The +99 seconds was pretty good.

Okay, I watched the whole WIP. The optimization looks really good. The boss fights were all very clean. I always remember the camera and movement controls in the game being a little tricky (although I was playing with a keyboard most recently), but the run looked pretty well structured in terms of camera and movement stuff. I also liked the little play-around moments during slow parts. Looking forward to the full run!

I got about 1/10 of the way through the run before mupen crashed, but it looked very solid. Is there any way to fast forward into a game without watching the whole replay over? Anyway, glad to see a run of this game developing. Edit: Of course: the speed settings!

Hmm...I got all of those settings in there, and I can now play zdude255's movie above, but not yours. Edit: Ah, because my copy of your m64 file was only 1kb! I redownloaded the movie and am watching it now.

I can't get the run to play. The game starts, but just acts like there is not input. I'm kind a of a nub when it comes to in-emulator playback, so any help would be appreciated! The game copy I'm using is "Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon," and it is running a little glitchily. I've tried a few different combinations of audio/video settings. Is there an input plug-in I'm supposed to use? I'm going to try a copy of the game with the same name as the movie file, and if you don't hear from me. Okay, now it's asking for a controller pak? I'm trying to work that one out now, I guess.

I beat this game for the first time recently, and it's absolutely a Top-5 favorite N64 game for me. Looking forward to a full run!

Love the subtitles/annotations...all runthroughs should have this now that we're using mkv...great playing, beating, etc.

Also, I have to think that the next major sequence break could only be getting in through the outside door in the moat...I know you can't go through the water, but is there any way that it's possible to do a falling glitch through the edge of the castle and get behind the door, maybe? Anyway, keep up the good work.

Keep up the good work, you guys. The 0-star run has had a couple of frames shaved off, yes? Well, once you guys find some other little improvement, I am looking forward to a new video...I know this site tends to prefer established runs, but Mario 64 is definitely getting into final framewar territory and I wouldn't mind seeing any new submissions for a final speedrun.
