Argh, I just improved my level 4-5 by almost a minute but it said that I walked in diagonal... Here's the exact message: "Record not saved! You walk diagonally from (41) to (58) at 2394 after 6747." Here are the stats...
            Your Record
Time 5:05.60 6:03.36
Moves 942 1141
Pushes 124 171
Kicks 101 66
Moves/second 3.08 3.14
Pushes/second 0.4 0.47
Moves/push 7.59 6.67
Seconds/box 9.55 11.35
Pushes/box 3.87 5.34
Aborts 2 3
Boxes 32 32

Well, since Bisqwit made the game more fluid, seems that I can't use the kick as fast as before :( (Meaning that I can't use the faster way & lose some time instead :( ) BTW, I think whats the cause of the bugs I found. For the 1st one, seems that you don't clean the Undo variable when you retry a level with D button. So, you can place all but 1 block, then press D to start again & then Space Bar to undo & magically return to the last position before with the time just started. Also, I got another one while I screwed it up a block. Seems that I was pushing it & set Peter to move after with the mouse, but since I pushed the block to much I had to restart again & he walked through the block to get where I wanted with the mouse...

I just got a bug in the game, & I can send it. It's on level 3-3. Should I send the video? BTW, here's how I think I got the bug:
  • Played the level & screwed it up, so I pressed D (I could had saved time by pushing the block the other side or something like that...)
  • I used another window while the level was loading, I think I was checking this forum...
  • I put again the game to play, but Peter magically started to walk backwards, like when you press D, but this time he placed where I screwed it up last time.
  • Pressed Space Bar to see what happened, & it returned to where I leaved the 1st time, but I think the time was lower... (The blocks where sorted as I leaved them)
Edited: Decided not to send it, it wouln't be fair for the current record. I'll beat is normally :)

I did knew this because once I though that trying the minus level on the 2nd pipe would lead you to another minus level...

Thanks for the answers. As for the strat, I did used a better one, but didn't though it would save me that much... And about the message, that's another cool add :) (I was thinking about telling you that, but you beat me :P)

What does the "Record saved! Good movie, but it can still be improved by more than xx secs" message means? Does the strat I used wasn't good, meaning there is a better strat or where my moves just to slow & I could had saved some time if they where perfect? BTW, I got this message in level 4-4 if that's relevant... PS: Does kicked blocks move faster or was my strat better this time, because I saved like 20 secs...

Well, my brother turned off the Comp, but I remember the strat I used, so I can do it again (& will...)

Why can't I save my record on level 7-3, I get the next message:
Record not saved! Timer was 0.
BTW, here's my status:
Time 6:49.66
Moves 1156
Pushes 476
Moves/second 2.82
Pushes/second 1.16
Moves/push 2.42
Seconds/box 22.75
Pushes/box 26.44
Aborts 1
Boxes 18
I'll leave CPU on, so if you can fix this I'll try to send the video in the morning...

So why is BoltR's timing different? Apparently because there's a lag of 1 frame in checking whether the game is completed - a lag which BisqBot doesn't have! I think I have to fix it!
Allright, this problem has been fixed, and all human records have been updated to remove this 1 frame.
So, does this means that the frame check will be discounted or that if a new record is gotten you will take out that frame?

I was trying to see if I got 7.70 secs by calculating the moves with maths with the Game Details info, so here's what I got for the 1st level (1-1): Left, Left, Left, Up, Up, Push Left, Down, Left, Push Up, Right, Up, Push Up, Left, Up, Push Right, Down, Right, Push Right, Up, Right, Push Down, Left, Down, Push Down, Right, Down, Push Left. 0.20 + 0.20 + 0.20 + 0.20 + 0.20 + 0.45 + 0.20 + 0.20 + 0.45 + 0.20 + 0.20 + 0.45 + 0.20 + 0.20 + 0.45 + 0.20 + 0.20 + 0.45 + 0.20 + 0.20 + 0.45 + 0.20 + 0.20 + 0.45 + 0.20 + 0.20 + 0.45 = 7.40 secs So, where does the + 0.30 secs come from? Now, calculating using the info where the record is displayed: Moves: 27 --> (27-8)(0.2) = 3.8 Pushes: 8 --> (8)(0.05 + 0.40) = 3.6 Total --> 3.8 + 3.6 = 7.40 secs So, what am I missing here? (If turning supposed to be 0 using mouse & kick wasn't used...)

Like an account, you mean? Hehe, I think I'll be really hard for him, but that would be a little useful, because you could the the movie records from any computer, but you can play any level, so I guess this won't happen...

Nice add you got there Bisqwit, the kick feature does reduce lots of time & it makes harder to find the best strat. I wonder how long will it take to see all the levels mastered with this strats :) BTW, you forgot to mention that you kick with K, though is kind of obvious...

Same here, I've only got to reproduce the exact record with the same strat in 2 stages or so... I'm wondering if it is due to key-pressed configuration... (Since I keep pressing 1 button, intead of tabbing it) Also, is it takes the same time to move Up/Down & Left/Right, same with pushing a box? Because in some stages, you can do either & aparently looks the same...

Hi there bisqwit, I got a new record on level 4-5 but it kept giving me a message that there was a record better than mine, it gives me the next message:

My record was:

Moves/push 2.8
Seconds/box 14.9

Also, you could add the lowest moves & pushed, because the fastest way not always is the one with less moves...

Nice additions you got there Bisqwit, hope I can make a record... BTW, could you add a top 5 of top 10 of every level? The 1st 2 levels I got like +0.2 secs from the WR...

What Truncated said. Regarding different size, I'm already working on Maze Master 2 which has larger puzzles, and I think I'm going to add locked doors and keys too.
That would be cool :). BTW, how many different maps are there? I've seen that sometimes the puzzles just changes position, like if looked into a mirror... Sometimes I figure the solution until this happens... Also, you can cheat a little bit if you know that you won't find the solution on time. Just take a snap & wait all you need until you figure it up & when you start again, the puzzle will be the same but mostly mirrored :P If you could pause time somehow, you would only be worried with not screwing up the puzzle, since there's no takeback, which I find good, since you could try lots of moves & then undo them if it didn't worked...

Thanks, I have yet another request, if it's posible. Can you make the character to resign if you have screwed up? I usually move fast & sometimes have to wait until time's up to start again... BTW, I really liked your game, but it would be wonderful to have puzzles with diferent size also...

I did them by activating two PAR cheat codes to prevent random battles (7E16A901 and 7E0B4F42) and then creating a SMV that simply consists of Galuf going where no man has gone before. I accidentally also used the 7E0BBC00 code which disabled Galuf's walking animation, making him always appear facing north except when taken by the currents.
Now that you mention about codes, would it be valid to use a code to disable randomn battles in order to make this video faster? I know that you can skip most battles by just running from them, but the animation takes some time, making the video longer. I know I'm not the one making the video, but if it comes out I will surely download it ASAP, that if I can store the avi file in my drive... Maybe not abusing of such code, but enable it from time to time in order to look lucky by skipping long distances :)

I remember more or less that part, you have to look for him 3 times. If I'm not mistaken, for the 1st one look to the right; for the 2nd one, to the upper right; & at last, in the upper middle... If you don't see the 3 parts, then you can't continue. Edit: I just checked it out, 1st you need to go straight to the stairs & you'll see the king running to the right, go to the bottom right room & you'll see him running again, just go again up where the stairs are & he'll be there standing...

She was asking for the desert part, since the quicksand will move you around... I think it would be useful to find a snap of that area & then search for the fastest route...
