I was wondering if anyone was up to the challenge of making a REZ video Where it was completed with the best sounding music in it, ex: making it sound really cool by combo shots, keeping the beat, etc etc. Basically, make a really cool sounding rez run. I'd do it, but I can't find the game anywhere. :/

Actually, it would be possible, but complex, to convert a .smv or other to a .swf using the ROM... But it's certainly not an easy task. And would probably require more than a casual knowledge about programming in Flash, programming in C, and emulation in general. And I'd rather not have a .swf personally. I like .avi.
Id rather have a .swf than Nothing. >.<;

you cant convert these movies to flash.
Its less converting the nes / snes /whatever movie and more taking the AVI from whatever and turning it into flash, and flash takes up less space than the Movie itself would, or I think it would.

Why not just make a movie thats small? You really don't need to worry about quality in most 8-bit games, or you could even do it in FLASH for goodnes sakes. Talking of movies, I was going to make a new thread about it, but i might as well save space here and say that no one is seeding, so its almost impossible to see the movies to some games out there, seeing : I cant possibly own a game rom to view them. No one ever seeds the movies, I have 15% of one, and no one has seeded for 2 days straight ever since I started it. Also, I can't get Fceau running the movies, but thats probably my fault. :/

I always thought it was harder to get the more popular games because they're always the ones that the IDSA cracks down on.
Meh, roms are actually quite easy to come by, thanks to google search. You go through a lot of crap, but you find it after a day or two. Makes me wish I could just rip my nes games myself :/

Under a route Michael Fried posted on my forum for a human run, it was blantantly obvious I could get in the 33 range. My current run, minus the mistakes I shouldn't have made, should have been close to 35 mins flat, rather than 36 mins. I think the route I must take involves getting the Magical Sword later, if ever, one gamble being successful, doing Level 3 first, and getting my items at more convenient shops. I do plan on beating the 1st Quest Time, but my next project is Link's Awakening.
With or without the screen trans glitch? That makes quite a difference, making the game beatable quite quickly.

Hey, the harder and more horrible the game is, the more impressive it is when you do it marvelously, and it prompts more bragging rights as well. Seeing that everyone is doing the main and popular ones (marios, megamen, etc) itd be nice to see some random games thrown in the mix. also be horribly aggrivating to get the roms for, but worth it.

It depends I suppose. Glitches can make a game very easy to beat. It would discourage me to do a speedrun of ALttP in close to two hours when someone already has an official world record of having beat it in close to three minutes. It's important to remember that TG videos aren't published for people to see, so demonstrating skill really doesn't matter, it's all about your final time. I worry that it will cause more people to take the glitched route and stay away from how the game has been competed for traditionally for many years.
Thats why separating it would work out more than just integrating everything. If it's in the game, its legal, however, if its pressing up + down at the same time or some glitch like that, it doesn't work out, seeing you couldn't pull it off using the actual system itself, unless you modded it, which would be illegal. :/ I agree with Josh though on that if its in the game its fine, even though it may be cheap as hell.

It depends on what goal has been set. whether its 100%, speed completion, speed completion with no dmg, etc. Personally, its more impressive to see someone kill a boss with 0 health left, but thats just IMO. If you both have the same time but one of you got no hits, then that one is more impressive.

I dont know if anyone brought this up yet or if its general knowledge, but at the teleporter, you dont even have to go through, just talk to marle immediatly and it goes off for you. Theres other flags problems that were in the game, but I forgot.

I personally think that it doesnt matter if resets are used, as long as the videos themself look good. If someone uses a restart for an advantage, and it is done well and makes you go "wow" , its fine to use, as long as its included with the game, resetting the ROM using the emulator shouldn't be allowed though.

Most of the emulators for pocketpc/palm are not freeware, or tell you to register forever, but there are some that dont require it.

Amazing, I grew up with this game and yet I never knew that. :/ Also, Most of the bugs were fixed in megaman anniversary collection for the Playstation2, are there any instances of bugs that can be abused in that version, or have they all been taken out?

I've seen the rockman 2 video, and it leaves me with one nagging question, how do you throw the metal blades at angle and or straight upwards? Thanks, and sorry if I'm posting in the wrong place.
