nice Gigafrost. the way thats done reminds me of how you could extract Sprites from PSX CDs. did u rip these out of the ROM or make them yourself? cause i really want to do this as well for some VG characters. just curious.

to watch the GMV file: first, extract the zip files from the link Highness provided to 9c, the ROM (which i assume you have) and the GMV file which i and Bag of Magic Food provided all into one folder. now, run the application gens_movie_test9c and go to File > Open and find the ROM. once the ROM is opened up and the game begins playing (give it 10 seconds), go to CPU > Play Movie/Resume record from savestate. click on the top "..." (Movie File) box to retrieve the movie file from the same folder. before hitting Play Movie, make sure you have Read Only checked and Play From Start checked as well. then hit play movie and all should go well.

well... considering everyone named at least 1 band i was into in each of their posts (especially Nightwish), all i can really add are Draconian and Clannad. i listen to vgmix.com's mix more than anything lately.

http://tasvideos.org/Helping.html there arent many seeders, if any. so that could be the issue.

If I remember correctly, wasn't there a genesis game where you had to restart to continue? (Something about you had to reboot the computer in-game)
X-men. you had to do that at the end of Mojo's Crunch and then the screen filled up with 1's and 0's followed by some more text and then the game would continue. ...and yes, i tried time-attacking the game but Gens won't recognize that reset (i tried each of them several times BTW). Jyzero also said it would take a major rewrite of the program to recognize that anyhow. :(

I dont see this on gamefaqs anywhere
WAS is the keyword. i left that place a LONG time ago after fully beating it and failed attempts (petitions) for getting the game re-released. to save you the trouble, the ethics was along the lines of obtaining the files off a site (long since dead i believe, i dont know) and then using an emulator to play it (either via ISO image or by using Nero or something else to burn the files to CD) which was deemed wrong and unethical by some and not by others for various reasons. yada, yada, yada... 100+ worthless posts and a massively redundant flamewar later, people were no further along than when they started.

Don't worry, you will always be my Skip Rogers
Skip Rogers, World Video Game Champion right? ha... its been ages since i heard that name... hell, i still have the one video he did of Metal Gear, Platoon, Mega Man 2, Wizards & Warriors and Top Gun. SCORE MORE POINTS (kind of funny considering there aren't even POINTS in some of those games). i always wanted to get his other one because he did Simon's Quest and back when i was 8 or so i had no IDEA how to beat that game without passwords. Did anyone ever get that second video? anyhow, if im wrong about the reference, ive made an ass of myself. But anywho, thanks for the nostalgic reference BoltR.

i honestly dont know what it could be... v. 9c, the sound settings are also at 44100, DAC off and stereo on. Perfect Synchro and the button config made differently. ...what about Sprite Limit (its just something i noticed that was checked on; wasnt sure if that was default or not)? i have that checked as well. could that cause a desync?

oh, those two... it happens more with Psylocke... if i stand to close and try and do a leap+slash advance, it falls apart and just holds me right there at the screen. now, after the Wolvie clone, it just has a nasty habit of setting me up for one of the Phalanx guys to hit me right there (as well as sometimes doing what happens at Psylocke).

never played it on Magic Engine but used the ISO for HuGo (though the screen was messed up a little... it overlapped on the right hand side). and i didnt feel like trying the music either... though the game has some that comes with it... "Poison Mind" and a few others i cant remember. it was ok... maybe i would have liked it more if i'd have played it back in the day (it feels SO slow at times). and i hope no one tries to bring in the "ethics" argument that was at GameFAQs for so long (dunno if it still is). :)

http://nvdata.pilif.ch/Buffy_WotDK.zip used rom 1084 - Buffy - The Vampire Slayer (English)(Mode 7) used the newest version of VBA done by nitsuja. im not sure if there is ANY interest in this game whatsoever, but i when the show was on, i was a huge fan of it. i can see a few minor optimizations here and there. the pain in the ass is gett the run to work correctly. Frame Advance should help for this but we still cant submit VBAs (i think... ive been out of the loop for a while) so this is more a WiP. also, it doesnt END correctly. i ended it after the boss and then thought the credits would role but... they didnt. another moment for auto-fire. anyhow, let me know what you think. OH... Emulator settings (im not sure if this is automatic, so ill put it down): *From Reset/SRAM *Game Boy Advance *Emulator's Bios (im not really sure what this is yet, incase i did it wrong... sorry). anyhow, i had the week off and wanted to see how this worked. if it sucks (the game or me), just say so. :)

UPDATE: complete http://nvdata.pilif.ch/EwJv2_complete.zip i apologize... i actually finished this the same night i showed the last update. however, due to internet troubles and other things im not going into detail about, i couldnt get back here for a while. anyhow, its done. much faster than before. one qualm in FOR PETES SAKE may be the brief slowdown. i tried to avoid that and ended up getting killed a bit before the life-ups. i hope this is good enough now. the only part i REALLY hate at this point is the TUBE RACEs. everything else i am fairly fine with. also, i missed another of those BLUE SPHERES near the end (i dont really see these as a big thing still, but it would have looked half-assed if i only got so many out of the whole). also notice, at one point, i go over 60 and the numbers disappear. anyhow, if this is good enough, i will submit it. i dont really have time right now because i am between dental appointments (root canal and plenty of fillings). i will TRY to check on this tomorrow and get feedback. i thank Cheez and nifboy the most with help in making this.

alright, ill redo the last AA and get the rockets and try and get as many of those shields as possible. im not quite sure what you mean about Pete's Sakes, but ill test it out. i know he drags you quite a way sometimes (he damn near took me to the beginning of the level once after we passed our 3rd meteor storm). ill look into it because i think how he dies affects it as well. im not sure if death as a shortcut would work well, but ill try and put it in and see how it works. thanks once again, nifboy :) EDIT: strange glitch? while testing out the "let petey kill ya" (unofficial name) i found something strange. right before a pit, a UFO snagged me and a meteor storm was about to come in. HOWEVER, petey went in the pit, grabbed me and drug me JUST before the meteor shower and when we advanced... NO METEORS! im hoping this doesnt cause some insane bug glitch later on, but this will definitely save more time if i can get it all right. kudos once again to nifboy for pointing something like this out. i just hope it works all the way through.

update: went a little ahead, Pete's Sake http://nvdata.pilif.ch/EwJv2_For_Pete's_Sake.zip i went ahead and beat Level 5. Snot a Problem went MUCH faster this time around, every round but the last (equal to last). also, i'd go further, but i just want to make sure... if only for the last Andy's Asteroids (sorry, i COULDNT get those and i damn well tried... perhaps they were extras?). so i can either redo it and not get any Blue Sphere/Bubbles or leave it as it is. im not sure if it looks sloppy or not. anyhow, im VERY happy with the results so far (much quicker and not so much damage taken). also, if i dont get back to this in a bit, its because of internet problems (im home now). ill try and get on in the next day or so, just to let you know that im not giving up or anything.

hmm... perhaps. there are some extra ones near the beginning of the stage and when the bomb goes off i miss one. i suppose going a bit out of my way there and using them later on would save some time. ill experiment, but im sure this one will save more time than it will deduce. thanks nifboy! :) EDIT: ok... redid heck and am up to EVIL trying to manipulate his first form. anyhow, it only wasted 8 seconds which is about the length of 3 of those cats... and i got 8 PLASMA blasts from the deal... so this should go MUCH quicker. EDIT2: scratch that... it doesnt let me keep the BLASTS after a level is cleared. it sounded like a very nice idea, but it looks like i cant keep em... dammit. oh well... anyhow, keep the suggestions coming. :)

if you're using Gens 9c, it should work fine... just change the button settings to 3 on the controller 1 and leave 6 on controller 2. and as far as the Boss in the Junkyard boss, ill go back through and retry it on a different file and see if i can get it to work out.
