It's the same run. It used to be on Mickey's previous account before he deleted it. However, Mickey has stated (in the comments) that now, 22 stars can be collected from power on with no "A" button.

When I placed two down another grew back some how(Glitch?), but I was never able to get it to do that again. I think we should just do the Yoshi clipper before everyones brains explode. It's simple and we already know how to work it.
You've already done a successful fruit clip on Episode 1, but now you're suggesting everyone just use a slower strategy? I don't understand your reasoning here.
It's because he didn't do it successfully. I'm not saying it's impossible, just that he hasn't done it.

An idea I had was used by Gohan because I didn't have time due to school...but here it is nonetheless: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CCdX3vGqK6c

Rog, if you could compile a 32 and 64 bit rev with the more save fixes/tas input/desync fixes for wii/natts avi fix, I'm sure myself and others would love you forever. =) <3

Since I live in northern California (Redding to be precise), I was directly in the center and got to see the famed "ring of fire" that annular eclipses show off. My family had those special "glasses" and everything. Got some pictures and a video with my phone as well! =)

EDIT : I was asking that because I saw the high quality video of sonicpacker's runs on Super Mario Galaxy :p
I don't know anything about natt's a/v recording thing and I've never even attempted to use it yet. What I do is set the graphical settings in Dolphin to be absolutely ridiculous and unreal, then I close the toolbar and status bar [which makes more room] and stretch the Dolphin window [using render to main, of course] to its biggest size without there being black bars on any side of the game. My monitor is 1920 x 1080, so I can get Dolphin to be a pretty decent size. Then I just dump it with, like I said, those crazy settings and large resolution. After dumping the frames [which takes a very long time because my computer isn't that good], I dump the audio separately since I don't know how natt's thing works. I use Sony Vegas to piece the video to the audio. I do not piece the audio to the video because the video has no lag frames. That's what causes the desynchs. So once the video is the proper length, I render it in with no motion blur in .wmv format. Depending on if the video is 4:3 or 16:9, I use a custom size (1920 x 1440 for standard, and 2048 x 1152 for widescreen). I also choose for the audio to be rendered as a 320 kbps mp3, because that quality is essentially lossless to the human ears (and YouTube murders it anyway). Hope this helps.

It appears to be in part (or maybe completely) because of his spin. Take a look at this video. Correct me if I'm wrong, but at 0:21, when Luigi LJs out of a spin, it seems like he has a little bit more speed than he gets with a regular LJ.

We got discouraged from having to restart yet again (5th time), so while it isn't dropped, the run is on hold. We'll be starting with City Escape now that we have the ability to switch stories whenever we want.

He was further back so the angular momentum is greater on the flip thing. Also he was spinning while landing from the long jump to regain control quicker. You should check out Fusik's link from a few posts back.
I did. There's no landing lag if you press Z+A on or roughly on the same frame to LJ. So I don't know what you mean by spinning while landing giving him control quicker. As for the first part, from what I could tell, the only thing that changes based on your position on the platforms is the height you LJ. When you're closer to the center (or at least for me), you go lower. I never noticed any speed differences...though it is difficult to test with a controller and no memory watch. Edit: Well not NO landing lag, but a significant amount less. Spinning makes you slow down as well afaik...

Would someone who knows this games' physics be able to explain how datteo managed to catch up so much in the air: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ukg1bkJ5j0I As you can see, I started my long jump long before he did in his non-TAS run, but I only managed to beat him to the star by 6 frames.

This is just a test so I could see how some of this game's physics work: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rgoC8lzLlUM This isn't WR or anything. I was just trying to see how much Dolphin has improved. I will probably redo this and upload it as public. It's also a quality test, so let me know how you guys feel about that. Trying to TAS this game isn't really worth it at the moment. Dolphin is pretty difficult to work with for Wii games (that don't use the GC controller). It's definitely improved in terms of desynchs, but it's still not quite practical enough for efficient TASing to be done.

Nunchuck works fine.
In my testing of SMG2 on my computer, I found out 3 things: When I load a savestate, wiimote input is "disabled" for 5 - 6 frames. When I load a savestate, for the next 13 - 14 frames if I'm holding a direction on the nunchuck, Dolphin thinks that spot on the controller is the center. When I load a savestate, the pointer does not work for 20 frames. Edit: After disabling "Reconnect Wiimote on State Loading" it works fine. Thanks to ReneBalow for the tip. Edit 2: I'm still getting desyncs with SMG2 (haven't tried any other games). Dual core and idle skipping are both off and I'm using LLE audio. Is there anything else that might be causing issues? I've also tried playing with read-only. It isn't being very consistent for me.

Not that I'm going to make one...but would a Mario run be preferred over a run that starts from SRAM with Luigi on the site? Edit: Also, is there anywhere someone can link me to that details some tricks for this game?
