There is indeed a real time 0 star completion of SM64: http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm12887548
Is there actually a way to watch the video somehow? No player shows up at least here, nor can I find any obvious link or button for that effect. (And my Japanese is not good enough to decipher the mystic runes in that page.)
Google Chrome has a built in translator. You have to sign up to watch videos on nicovideo. It isn't difficult though.

Voted yes. The run is entertaining. The argument for being arbitrary is just silly when you have movies like "SMB1 Walkathon." Just like that movie disables holding "B" to run, this movie disables side-bljs which allowed for 1 or even 0 star completions. Disabling running to watch something extremely slow < Disabling a trick that allowed for the current runs (0 Star), to make something just as entertaining Bottom line, this movie is entertaining and far from arbitrary (especially by this sites standards, let alone the SM64 community).

Voted for Mickey.

You have no idea how false that statement is.

The official encode got nearly 25,000 views and over 60 comments in less than a day from being shared by someone over at Joystiq.

The frame chart in the submission text was updated. The only things left to do are to edit SilentSlayers personal statement (he wants to say something about Mickey/VIS), edit Johannes' statement because the celebration wasn't his (we used Mickey's "time-saver"), and finally, we need a statement from Mickey to add in. Here is the encode we would like the submission page to link to instead of MisterEpic's encode: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r9zOlNCBYkU This should be the "official" link unless SilentSlayers uploads an encode as well, in which case, we can have 2 links (mine and his).

It isn't worth a PM to say that you didn't answer my question in that entire post. On topic: How come no one has started making a TAS of some short GC game to submit here? The input files sync just fine for me. I have TASed some event matches in SSBM and they always play back correctly. And yes, I mean TAS as in using frame advance with savestates, not "low fps + Fraps TASing."

Would you mind telling me how saying a "joke" (I was being half-serious) makes me an idiot? And FYI, if saying sarcastic jokes makes me an idiot, then welcome to the club, because you said one too.

When attempting to save a state in the newest Mac build of Dolphin, the emulator crashes. Every single time. :/
Here's a fix for that problem.

If you can provide us with an updated submission text, we can make the changes.
I don't know how to format things like the improvement table, etc. Is there a way to obtain the full text with all of that already formatted so I can just change numbers around, then fix the rest, like our personal comments.

The submission text still needs severely edited.. But Kyman won't sign on to talk to anyone and he's the only one of us that is capable of editing the text.

Ok everyone, the .m64 file is updated and can be downloaded here. Be warned that Mupen has a bug where it presses every controller button on the last frame of input. For that reason, the .m64 ends with a pause when it shouldn't. The author list needs to be changed, as well as some things in the submission text.

I think this was the previous record (with old timing). So my guess is yes.

When I start recording a movie, a bug is triggered so that input isn't recognized by the emulator for a prolonged time after loading a state.
This happens to me as well with newer revs. But Rev 6154 (the first one where rerecording started "working") works just fine for me with no desyncs.

I can pretty much guarantee you that as soon as the emulator can playback input files with even a remote chance of getting them to sync, you'll see Gamecube/Wii publications on the site.
That has already happened with Gamecube games. I have TASed SSB:M Event Matches in frame advance and they play back perfectly.

We have already decided on Mickey being a co-author. A lot of things in the submission text still need edited as well as the .m64 needing an update. Sorry for the inconveniences everyone.

My god, calm down people. We are getting the fight hexed as soon as we can. We have these things called "lives," I'm sorry you don't understand that.

Are there any future plans for an input plugin similar to the Mupen 64 TASInput plugin?

I recommend ignoring wimbledonswirl, as he/she/it is just a troll from the SM64 community looking for attention. You could probably tell from the grammar and info he/she/it gave, that he/she/it has no idea what they're/it's talking about.

We already went through this once. Just read the pages prior to this one so another argument doesn't arise.
