Wow, you're the guy that made those advanced play videos all those years ago. As one of many players that learned from them, thanks! :D I can't wait to see this!

There is one incorrect mechanic in MM2N that allows you to pause any time after using Flash Stopper. This means you could use Flash Stopper for movement, and then switch to a weapon, attack, and repeat as needed. I think a run without abusing this flaw would also be interesting to see, so that the run will be true MM2. However, it's likely necessary for a no-damage run.

Is anyone else keeping an eye out for hgr128? He's been making a lot of TASes for Star Fox 64! Meteo - 639 Katina - 399 Solar - 361 Fortuna - 152 Sector X - 397 Titania - 410 Bolse 342 And there's more on his Youtube, and the last three are all within the last few days. I'd keep an eye out for him. ;D

Just a quick question: when I save an M64 file using TAS Movie Editor, it saves like normal, but I'm not able to if Mupen64 has played the file (it won't let me overwrite), so I have to close Mupen64 to save file, and re-opening and starting up the ROM is a bit time consuming. Basically, is there a solution so I can keep Mupen64 open and be able to edit and save the M64 file?

I made a sloppy Yoshi's Cookie bot before, and FatRatKnight made a more polished one. If you push the script to the point where all moves are as fast as possible and everything is done in the best way mathematically, you can potentially end up with something like TAS that changes as the blocks/opponents do. I can't really help, but I really look forward to how well this goes.

After watching RAT926's glitch videos of SMB3, loads of awesome stuff I hadn't seen before, I'm actually in the mood of start TASing this game again and also experiment with the glitches, as they may lead to something useful.
Seriously, RAT926's Youtube is filled with tons and tons of glitches I've never seen before! It's crazy how much new stuff is in here.

I'd vote 100% Notes, Jiggies and Honeycombs only. No need for opening Note Doors, Mumbo Tokens or Witch Switches (since you can get some Jiggies without them). Basically, anything that's displayable on the Game Stats Total screen. But that's just my opinion.

You might want to do a lot of pre-testing to search for major skips. Like the above said, any% would only have a few things less than the 100% run, unless a new glitch were discovered. It could be interesting to see the absolute fastest time to beat the game though, but it might also be exciting to see how much you improve over Sami's run. I vote for any% in either case.

To save you use "Export to FM2". And yeah, all of my TAS stuff was done using this. It can be a bit slower than just manually playing, but this method requires no skill of the player at all and makes inputs with certain patterns or multiple buttons easier (say pressing A every 20 frames, etc). It's barely functioning, but it's enough to work.

I played around with this glitch. The main problem is that the switching back and forth simply takes too long and doesn't save any time. The other problem is that you can fire two shots with Rush, but when you switch to a weapon while the shots are still on the screen, it takes a few frames for the shots to actually hit anything. In other words, if you switch weapons a frame before one of the shots hits a baddie, it may go through. If you try to time and space it, you can just barely get both shots to hit a boss and do the damage of the weapon you switched to, but you need to be on opposite sides of the screen. I tried Rush-Knuckle against Top Man, and there's just no way to have both hit him. I also tried this on the final boss, replacing spamming Snake with Rush-Top, but the time it takes to go from the 2nd menu to the 1st (where Top Spin is), takes too long. It's faster to just spam Snake. The only places I can see this being faster is when you actually do use Rush, such as in the clip Mr. Kouka made. It is fun to use in non-TAS though.

I find that the games become much easier once you know all the technical details about them. I can pretty much beat Mega Man 4 without getting hit now. =( But ROM hacks always solve lack of difficulty problems. n_n

I'm not impatient, I just thought the whole Brian drama was silly. ^_^ Again though, I can't wait to see the TAS. =D So get working on it!
