I just looked back at the poll and would like to remark with a chuckle about how incredibly one-sided that vote was.

Rather than aiming to get all rings that come, you should also aim to get the exact amount required for the emerald. Say if the amount needed was 140, then aim for 70 for each of Sonic and Tails, should give you a much faster ring count-up at the end of the stage.
No, don't do this. Use the category "Ignores delays caused by bonus effects" and do collect the maximum amount of rings. It will be much more entertaining that way. I personally would have gone for the perfect bonus on the S3K special stages if it wouldn't have greatly increased the play length of those stages. In S2, only the bonus length is affected, so I strongly suggest that you go for maximum ring collection.

Upthorn, based on your post it sounds like you believe only one child was (supposedly, if you prefer) molested by MJ. True or false? Also, if you had to guess, how likely do you believe it is that MJ ever did anything inappropriate, sexually, in the presence of children?
I do understand that there were two separate occasions where charges against MJ were brought, by two different families. However, in light of the fact that the second family was engaged in fraud in various other aspects, I find it very unlikely that their accusations had any merit whatsoever. And since their child has almost certainly died of his cancer by now, Jordan Chandler is the only person left alive who could know the truth. As for the likelihood that MJ ever did anything sexual in the presence of children... eh, it's possible. If he did do it, it was with Jordan Chandler. I sincerly doubt he would have settled with the Chandler family for the ~$20 million dollars unless they had something on him. However, the fact that they were willing to settle, and not press criminal charges, makes me highly doubtful that their child was actually physically molested or harmed.

My vote is TASVideoAgent, because it maintains consistency with the historical naming scheme of NesVideoAgent, and because TASVideoBot and TASVideosBot just don't roll off the tongue as well.

It's a question of wether you can make up for the time lost by collecting all emeralds.
You can't, but that's the point of games having a different category for 100% runs. The real question is discounting the time spent in special stages, how much faster will super sonic be?

He behaved oddly and he liked to hange out with children. That doesn't make him a pedophile. He was never found guilty, so unless you were present when he molested a kid you have no way of knowing, and there is plenty of reasonable doubt. And people who go around saying they know for sure that somebody raped/murdered/whatever horrible thing, when there's no evidence at all except somebody else's accusation really make me sick. Michael Jackson's career and life were ruined because everybody was "sure" he was a pedophile, even though nobody ever showed any evidence for it. Could he have been a pedophile, of course. But he also could have been not a pedophile. And now that he's dead, only Jordan Chandler knows the truth. Anybody else can shut the fuck up.

Funny, Fabian, I wasn't aware you were present in the court room when all the evidence was presented. Oh that's right, you weren't! Tell me, is there any more evidence to your side than the fact that somebody accused him of it? And is it at all possible that the accuser was lying in order to try to sue for millions of dollars? Doesn't it seem at all odd to you that they sued instead of pressing criminal charges? If not, then you, Fabian, must be a witch. BURN THE WITCH! Wait I mean COMMUNIST Wait I mean PEDOPHILE BURN THE PEDOPHILE!

I'd also like to mention Bunny Must Die, a castlevania-styled Japanese independant platformer which involves time manipulation (freezing, rewinding, slowing down), although the player character is mostly immune to these effects. And, of course, Toribash, the Finnish independant stop-motion fighting game, where moves are performed by setting muscle contraction/relaxation/tensed states while time is frozen, advancing a few frames, and changing the state. It also has online multiplayer, where both players must set their muscles within 30 seconds, and motion can only be changed once every 10 frames.

This is about third (1, 2) topic for this game, if I'm not missing anything. Isn't it the time we merge them already?
I don't know. The first two are definitely worth merging, but this topic is different. It started out not a "hey, you should know about this game" but as more of a "let's plan a TAS!" And at this point it is more of a "windows game wishlist".

Forgive the ultrabump. I lost all my Genesis-related stuff in a rootkit-related format, so I wanted to get the encode of this run, but the page says the AVI is unavailable via bittorrent, as does the 45:55.82 version that obsoleted this one. Is there any way to get a hold of this or that movie? I wanted to watch a glitchless/less glitchy version.

I might as well cancel this submission now, too bad, it was going so well until now ;_;
I don't think anybody would have noticed it if you hadn't made such a big deal of it... But such a big deal being made of it does make it somewhat suspicious...

Fast paced game, interesting assortment of movement possibilities. Furthermore, the fastest possible movement on level ground is totally ridiculous looking, so I cannot help but vote yes.

As far as I'm concerned, this takes the nice Sonic 1 levels and plays through them at a speed that's generally much more entertaining than Sonic himself can manage. Assuming you have a skip-ahead button to skip the bonus tallies, then, this run is more than entertaining enough to stand on its own. Given the existence of the Knuckles run, I say they should both be published, and their descriptions should refer to each other, so viewers can pick which second-string hero they want to watch.
This is my opinion. I would also add that, even though the Knuckles run is not optimized to the same level as this one, because the gameplay for Knuckles is so different from the gameplay for Tails, the characters should not be allowed to obsolete each other under any circumstances.

I don't think it was spectacular, but it certainly meets the standards of the site.
There was a time when that sentence would have contradicted itself. I prefer the standards that require a movie to be spectacular in order to be published, than the ones that require a movie to be horrible in order to be rejected, and therefore vote against this submission... again. Not because it is sloppy or unoptimized, but because the game is simply boring to watch.

Why was this brought back?! Edit: The run was rejected on sound basis the first time around, that it is back on the workbench only gives all of the same people a chance to rehash all their arguements. And these arguements were not particularly constructive the first time around. Edit 2: I don't believe I ever watched this run, so weigh my opinion with that in mind. However, the reason that I never watched this run is relevant, and so I will state it here: With the wave of super metroid runs that hit starting with JXQ's 100% v2, I grew sick and tired of watching this game. Given time I'm sure that will no longer be the case, but I would argue that, if anything, we have too many Super Metroid movies published right now, rather than too few.

No, but after it's been explained to him that in order for this submission to be corrected, the site code, emulator code, input record format, and submission file would all have to be modified, it is pretty asinine to expect this submisison to be corrected instead simply cancelled for him.

All SMS players also emulates GG.
This is not quite true. The Game Gear has a display mode which allows for the 32 colors on-screen to be picked from a palette of 4096 possible hues. The SMS master palette, on the other hand, is only 64 hues. As a result there are several SMS emulators (of which Dega is one) that do not properly emulate Game Gear games. On the other hand, every Game Gear emulator is also a SMS emulator, that might just have too small a viewport.
