This is the Sonic '06 of the DS. Enough said. Thanks to Spikestuff for suggesting this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zHQ-cvAto5o&feature=youtu.be

Coca-Cola Kid is actually built off of the Sonic the Hedgehog engine and the games play very much similarly

I'm currently heavily investigating (AKA trying random stuff)the goal clip because it manages to defy every single ounce of good collision and logic this game has. If you are interested in seeing what's going on, here is a frame by frame breakdown of the clip, up to the frame where we goal (and end with a .73.) Note that we are holding (255,0) aka up-right the entire time. Album for your viewing pleasure help

How would you go about making this script work with touchscreen inputs in DeSmuME?
Considering the touchscreen of DeSmuME is 256 x 193 pixels (yes 193, it ranges from 0 to 192, don't ask me why), which means 49408 possible input combinations, it's a bit worse than having 15 additional buttons to check for the script.
With what I want to do, I'm only accounting for 256 'relevant' positions to be tried for each frame (on the same x pos.) Of course, trying to bruteforce on the entire touchscreen would be inhuman.

Note about the desync problem: This is a known problem with DeSmuME 0.9.11+. To fix this problem, just save a state at the start of the movie and load it. As such, this TAS starts from clear SRAM (unlike what the submission text implies.)

Question, what means ACE? I read it here and don't understand it. Searched through this thread, found nothing. Only that it crash the game and the Endcredits rolls. But what means ACE?
ACE means Arbritrary Code Execution, which is the feat of executing code within the game (usually to warp to the end credits). FF6 has a much 'minor' type of ACE compared to games like Super Mario World for example.

Why hasn't this been published, for until an updated is done? At the moment it's still the best done so far. It could be a while until a new one is made.
Judging takes a little bit of time, encoding a 3 and a half hour Dolphin run takes even more time. Patience is a good quality (see: every single TASer on this site).

Link to video There's definitely something here.. but we're talking about Swathe. If this trick could be implemented, it would definitely speed up the roll on the bridge to a 85+ speed and save quite a few frames.

<Zeupar> Mothrayas: Some shady-looking people approached me on the main street of Shanghai and asked me if I was looking for ladies. I ended up going to two different brothels to see how they were like. I had never been to one before, and it was quite the experience; in the second one, they sat me down on a couch and brought about ten girls for me to choose between. The worst part was coming up with an excuse to get out of there without having sex with any of them. Obviously, I couldn't tell them I only accepted to go there out of curiosity. <Zeupar> I told them they all were really beautiful (the majority of them weren’t) and that I was sorry, but I wouldn't feel good about myself if I had sex with a prostitute. <Mothrayas> virginity fo life yo <Warepire> LOL Mothrayas <Zeupar> Oh shit, that would have been a perfect excuse.

I'm going to throw this out there: I am desesperatly in need of help (mostly for bruteforcing stylus inputs and strategies.) If you are interested in the run and game in any way, please contact me on the forums or on the IRC channel of TASvideos.

Link to video Just before we hit 30 000 rerecords, Swathe (finally) decides to cooperate. This new start has an insane boost on the left of the start platform. The bounce will have to be lowered a bit (for faster speed) but it's really looking solid right now.

Collaboration takes motivation
Alright, bud. I would let slip anything but this part. How the flying raisin does collaboration take motivation????? There are people on this website who collaborate. You know why? Because it actually helps to collaborate with someone else. It gives collaboration to not be stuck in your little corner, go out, tell people 'Hey guys! I'm TASing this cool game!' and it only motives you more. When you have people working with you, collaborating toghether to destroy a game, at the end of the day, you'ill be much happier, you'ill be much more fulfilled than if you did something alone. And there's really no secret. Hell, collaboration can even attract more people to watch, to appreciate (even though they're not working on your project, such as on IRC), and I've never seen one single person say "Well, being on a team, working with others to achieve a common goal takes too much effort.." Base line is: being in a team is great. Check it out.

So... this is basically a fighting game speed TAS where you repeat the same move over and over again to win fights as fast as possible, only in disguise?
To be fair:
  • most battles aren't completely identical
  • it's a short number of battles
  • if I read the description right, most of the available moves are actually used at some point
So it's far from some of the fighting game TASes we have seen, where a single move is used to win every one of like 20 battles instantly.
Almonst every move is used in the run, except for ""throws"" (< + A) and some air specials.

I can't get this game to work. It keeps saying that "The save data could not be accessed."
For anyone else having this problem: 1. Make a savestate at the start of the movie. 2. Load it. If you are still having trouble, delete the battery file of the game (can be found in the Battery folder of DeSmuME.)

Link to video Been interested in this one for a little while. Arkanoid DS is reminescent of the NES version, with some major changes: - three difficulty levels, with HARD being slightly faster than NES - paddle moves instantanely and controlled by touchscreen input - distortion (aka triple ball) accelerates much faster Overall, I think this can make for a great watch, aiming for distortion in all stages and clearing stages in mere seconds. Will show a test TAS later tonight or tommorow, then leaving this up while working on another project, unless someone else is interested.

Isn't using the glitch similar to simply drawing a picture, then pressing Erase and then drawing an invisible answer? (And I mean similar in the game's point of view)
Yes.
