Hi thar!
I was thinking of tasing Mega Man 1, Mega Man 2, Mega Man 3, Mega Man 4, Mega Man 5, Mega Man 6 along with 3 approved other Mega Man hacks (I could possibly instead do 8 random games but I prefer Mega Man games, I am open for suggestion). Adelikat suggested that I should this time (remember my 1 stage demo of the sextuple tas?) finish the whole runs, which I thought wouldn't look good since you would look at two blank screens (Mega Man 1 and 2) for probably more than 15 minutes. But he said you can replay levels in Mega Man 1, but unfortunately not in Mega Man 2 (?). That puts me into a dilemma. Feel free to add suggestions.
What about only spending time moving on in those games along when it absolutely doesn't cost time in the other games... that way, they should end quite a bit later. You could even go as far as intentionally losing time for those games to finish them all around the same time.
Also (not that 8 games aren't enough), wouldn't it be possible to form a nice 3x3 grid when doing 9 games?

If you skip the zipping glitches, Mega Man 2 will already be much closer timewise to the later 4 Mega Man games. Other than that, you can stretch out the times by, for example, getting a game over at the end of a stage. Probably looks messy, but then again, so does 15 minutes of nothingness.
And I still think Rockman 2 with a different route than Mega Man 2 would be a fun idea. :P

<dwangoAC> This is a TAS (...). Not suitable for all audiences. May cause undesirable side-effects. May contain emulator abuse. Emulator may be abusive. This product contains glitches known to the state of California to cause egg defects.
<Masterjun> I'm just a guy arranging bits in a sequence which could potentially amuse other people looking at these bits
<adelikat> In Oregon Trail, I sacrificed my own family to save time. In Star trek, I killed helpless comrades in escape pods to save time. Here, I kill my allies to save time. I think I need help.
So not only has Capcom been just rereleasing the same game over and over again but so have the hackers of those games... Funny. I enjoy these multiple game projects. Good luck.

It's not that I don't admire the sheer amount of work and TASing prowess needed to run 8 games at the same time, but personally I would prefer seeing a multi-TAS of 2 games (it doesn't really matter which two) where the effort is put into making them "synchronize" as much as possible (in other words, as far as it's physically possible, make both characters in the two games move in the same way, or at least similarly, so that it becomes more obvious that the same input is indeed being used in both runs). In other words, IMO effort should be put into making an awesome 2-game multi-TAS than trying to TAS as many games as possible. The former would be more entertaining and interesting (the latter would only be chaotic and hard to follow).

So far, I am liking Baxter's idea the most, namely tasing 9 games at the same time. I guess I could somehow mainly focus on Mega Man 3-6 + the other 3 hacks so Mega Man 1 and 2 can catch up timewise. So, Mega Man 1-6 + 3 hacks, all stages completion, no major glitching involved (see Mothrayas reasoning), yay or nay?
Personally I have enough trouble watching the quad-run, and the lack of synchronicity made it basically an audiovisual noise storm. Go ahead and make whatever run you most like, but I suspect it'll be incomprehensible when played back.
Have you decided which hacks you would add to the mix?

Yeah, have these three hacks: Rockman Exile, Rockman Ultra, and Rockman No Constancy.
Would need to have a 2.5GHz processor which I don't.
Recommended resolution: 768x720 (nine 256x240 screens) to fit a 720p screen.

From the Your computer specification thread:
Derakon, I haven't so I am open for suggestions. Kyman, I don't think I will be adding tasvideos logo in the middle, I want the challenge of a 9th game aswell. Note that I am assuming many parts will involve avoding getting killed from spikes and whatnot :)
PikachuMan, my screen is 23.5inch so there wont be any problem.
Go for it.
Someone (maybe me) should write a custom videoplayer that would play all of the videos, but only play sound from the one selected / hovered over. If you do proceed with this and make good progress, I'll look into it...
I agree. However, I think that AngerFist is aware that a TAS like this won't be published, so you wouldn't be able to rate it if it is done.

Help improving TASVideos!
As I posted in several other threads, Iwould like to see DEM+NC simultaneously, as they are both Rockman 2 hacks.

Two videos side-by-side would be much easier to follow than 8 or 9 at once, which is sort of the point for these kinds of TASes, is it not?
It depends on if he's making the TAS for people to watch as a normal video, or if he's making it as a technical challenge, in which case you'd watch it at a more technical level.
You could make a horribly baroque house that looks terrible yet nonetheless demonstrates impressive mastery of the techniques of housebuilding, and can be appreciated for that fact if nothing else...

Technical prowess is to be commended, but if it (the TAS) is not sufficiently entertaining as well, it seems the time and effort would be better spent on a different project.

I believe Derakon pretty much summed up my thoughts on this project. I mainly see this as a technical challenge and by God, I shall prevail! I will submit it once it's done but I obviously have no expectation for it to be accepted.
This project will hopefully start this week. Wish me luck :P (hope I don't get burned tasing this huge project).

Congratulations, you'll become the only man on earth who've finished 9 games at the same time (well, you'll actually just tie Sticky)
Besides, you may gather some yes votes, because it will be an unique experience.
I wish you good luck.
Haha, AngerFist, you're truly one of the most awesome people who have blessed this community with their existence! Go and make these games your bitches!
