Hi all. I have a question... The Atari version of Tetris does not seem to work in FCEUX 2.1.4, but it works with FCEU 0.98.12-3 of my Debian Squeeze system. My question is, isn't FCEUX based from FCEU? Why do you think this ROM does not work with FCEUX? Thanks! Moderator edit: no ROM links please. Refer to the rules for more information.

If you're using the VS System version, map the insert coin function and select is start.

If by Insert Coin you mean clic "Insert Coin" when the rom is loaded, then it doesn't work either. All there is it's a grey screen that doesn't do anything. I don't know what VS System Version is... :S Thanks for you answer.

Haha, well, that was cryptic but I figured it out. VS system version is exactly the Tetris you're trying to load, produced by Tengen/Atari. Load the ROM, then in FCEUX's menu, go to NES → Insert Coin, then press Select.

Nope, doesn't work. What's weird is that FCEU 0.98.12 loads it just fine without having to do anything. Thanks again.

I actually tried it out just before submitting my previous post, and it did work. You're probably doing something wrong then.

Doesn't work for me. Maybe it's another version of the rom that works better than mine. Thanks again.

It works on mine. Try moving the ini file from the emulator's folder then try again. The Select button is the S key by default.

Are you using Windows or Linux? I don't have an .ini file in the home directory of my Linux system. Cheers.

Moozooh is right in that you need to insert coin then press select. However, he is using the SDL version. It should have a menu but insert coin may not be one of the choices. It is a default hotkey of some kind but unfortunately I don't know how the SDL version maps it. But the game works even on both the SDL and Win32 versions of FCEUX. Also, if it worked in FCEU that doesn't mean it works in FCEUX. FCEUX is indeed an "advancement" of FCEU but a lot of core things have changed, and there maybe obscure regressions. Obviously these regression are something we want to know about.

SDL version has Insert Coin in Emulator -> Insert Coin After clicking on it, I press Select but nothing happens. Should I report this somewhere else or here it's fine?

You need to go to map hotkeys and map it to the C key (what I mapped it to) The Credits must be at least 1 for 1 player, or 2 for 2 players. You can't start the game when it says 0. Set the last line for NTSC to 239 in the Drawing Area in the Video options to see the number. What I meant in my previous post is the CFG config file.

The controls don't do a thing on FCEUX. It works on VirtuaNES, but that's all I'm gonna say for my 200th post.
