The system

It's the same system as Metal Slug 3. So it has the same glitches

Comment

Mission 1

Breaking key enemies together to scroll.

Mission 2

Getting an R in boss battle for 30 damage per 4 frames

Mission 3

Go up and get 2 F to hit the boss

Mission 4

Becoming zombie would be slower in boss battle, because the blood cannot attack the 2 small parts fast. And if getting zombie in boss battle,it would waste more times.

Mission 5

Go down, and manipulate luck in the boss battle

Mission 6

Go right after boss battle to get Best ending.
It's time to kick ass.

Nach: Very nice run, even the low points of this run entertained well. Accepting.

GabCM: I'll work on that.

Patience, dude, the run's only been on the workbench for a couple of hours and our encoders have their own lives to lead. Put another way, your encode will be ready whenever you finish making it. Other peoples' encodes are made on their own schedules.

Awesome. Though I didn't like Metal Slug 4 that much. It's not as good as the others.

Wow. Yet another Metal Slug TAS! Its not as action paced or exciting as Metal Slug 3, but its still incredible to watch. Heres an amazingly strong Yes Vote.

I'd like to encode this, but I've tried in v0.0.3.03 and v0.0.5.01 and... That black stuff appears frequently during this stage. I've looked in the options, and I'm not sure if something would solve this issue. Is there a way to cover this black thing? If not, then I guess I'll encode this leaving that black thing.

I get the same thing when I watched the run. I think it may be a fault of the game itself and not any encoding issue.

Here, have an encode. For the moment, it's streamable on RadioKJ and YouTube. It's also downloadable here or here (88.1 MB). It will be available later on Dailymotion. I'm also going to vote Yes on this run. I'm still liking this "army of two" thing you're making with the Metal Slug series. I have a question. To control two players, did you make an LUA script like they did for that Simpsons movie to control each player alternatively, or were you actually controlling both players at the same time?

Actual control. I don't think LUA can give me any help for controling 2 players

Nice dual weilding! I've seen a bit of adelikat in the process of TASing [1613] Arcade The Simpsons "4 players" by adelikat & DarkKobold in 13:37.73 during a live stream. He was using an LUA script that let him record one character's actions, and then go back to record another character's actions, and so on, so he could control four players at a time. But the downside is that you have to know how to program LUA if you want to do such a thing.

That would be easier to get desync,so I don't want to do it like that. And I desire that FBA could set one key for 2 or more button but not only one. So,I am waiting for MAME-rr to make many 4 players run.

HOLY BEJESUS (Love this part, it's almost as if the characters were jumping through a wall of fire... or enemies on fire that is...) Love your work x2poet (no, really, if in the KOF I sounded harsh I'm sorry). Yes vote of course.

After playing up to that section of the game myself in both MAME (MAMEUI64 0.142u4, specifically) and FBA-rr just now, I can confirm that this is an emulation error. If you're playing that section of the level in MAME, the black bars won't appear. (I gotta say I look forward to seeing MAME get fully-functioning TAS tools...) I will now watch this movie, and then vote. EDIT: Once again, x2poet dominates the game in an entertaining manner. On top of the mayhem and the fun wait periods, there was even some hitbox exploitation near the end. (One of the final boss' second form's bullet streams completely fails to hit either player, even though it looks like it should.) All in all, it's yet another successful Metal Slug movie. I vote Yes to this movie, for another great two-player run in the series. Enjoy your dinner!

That was the best one yet! Especially the final battle, which showed off more skill (dodging, etc.) than has been necessary in any of the previous Metal Slug games. That was brilliant!

Yeah, I forgot to mention; the final boss seems like he'd be a royal pain in the ass to fight in real time, what with the flurry of projectiles and lasers, and the fight in this movie seems impressive in that light. Either way, I look forward to seeing Metal Slug 5 taken on like this.

Wouldn't taking an extra moment to rescue the businessman right before the final boss have saved time? He provides a lot of grenades and some arms if I'm not mistaken. What happened to the score in this? In other Metal Slug runs X2poet, you managed to get the players' scores quite close to each other, and this one not?

That must wait such long time for the businessman,in that time I could already hit 3 or more times of damage by pistal. This one has medal system. In Mission 2,player-2 get 500000 bonus,so player-1 cannot catch up with it beside waste some time to get more medal or waste bullet to kill the enemies to make medal level up.
Do the work.

X2poet, I think I've figured out why your Metal Slug TASes are relatively successful but your KOF TAS was not. You're very good at being efficient, and at planning effective strategy, but you're not as good at showing off and playing around. In Metal Slug that efficiency really pays off, because much of the entertainment value in run n' guns is in the bosses, enemies, and how everything dies. In your case, you turn these games into a slaughterhouse, taking out enemies left and right and quite effectively. I love your Metal Slug runs and I think they demonstrate a kind of efficient ruthlessness and planning that work very well in this genre. In your KOF run you were a bit too efficient and didn't abuse the AI enough. In a game like Metal Slug that doesn't really play much of a role, but in a fighting game efficiency is not as important as flat out abuse of AI programming and glitching. Please don't give up on KOF. Use it to develop your more artistic and experimental side. Rest assured that your Metal Slug TASes demonstrate clearly your mastery of hit boxes, planning, and efficiency, and thanks to your game selection, great entertainment as well. Good work, easy yes vote. And please, keep at the KOF TAS as well. Don't let our initial response turn you off.
