I think IronSlayer is starting to like the show. He just can't admit it, even to himself. ;)

Guys, what I'd like to point out is that one of the reasons I've grown to this show so much is that I can fully appreciate it without taking things too seriously. And while speculation and discussion and all that is all fine, Ponies aren't worth getting all worked up over as far as I'm concerned, which is why I rarely stick my head in here. Personally I say, Just chill, sit back, and enjoy the ride. Therefore, have a picture without any deeper meaning to it

On colts, I think Mr. Cake is well balanced. There are some other background colts that seem normal too.

Heh, this is kind of turning into pointless bickering, which this thread has already has enough of. So this is my last post on the matter, feel free to respond or whatever but I'm leaving it here.

You're arguing against something I've never written nor implied. I'm not saying that every single female character in the series is the embodiment of perfection, intelligence, and beauty while every single male character is the opposite of those qualities.
I never said that, you however did say:

Compare this to the female characters, 90% of whom are good, and the other 10% who typically have redeeming qualities.
Which at least in my eyes implies that most (90% counts as most, right?) female ponies were presented as better than males. I posted examples of females behaving just as badly as any of the males. Comparing ponies you probably haven't seen against ponies you've probably never seen either might not have worked well to get the point across ^^. The only thing I'm arguing here is the severity of your statements. Words like "Overwhelmingly" and "Profoundly" don't really fit with what actually happens in the show. There simply isn't enough relevant content(male ponies) to form an opinion of this strength. Snips and Snails are exceptions, they are profoundly stupid. Your question was if the rest of the male ponies in the show are presented in a similar manner. They are not, nopony is.
Even the best player is limited by the speed of his fingers, or his mind's ability to control them. But what happens when speed is not a factor, when theory becomes reality?

Well, enough to watch seven episodes. Like I mentioned before, I neither like nor dislike the series; it's very much average.

Have a fairly civil discussion about this guy and how he may or may not be a threat to positive portrayals of males in girl's entertainment. Time to lock the thread.

Because we are men, and we ought not be wasting our time discussing such silly things as a girl's cartoon!

And instead we should go back discussing video games made for kids in the 80's?-)

I don't think it's the same thing. Almost all NES games are for everyone of all different ages. Not all of them were made for kids, like Color A Dinosaur and Where's Waldo were.

It is the same thing. It means we lack discipline. It means our lives lack direction. It might also mean that we lack good education. :)

I don't agree with any of that. Are you being sarcastic?

I don't hate it. I haven't played it, but the TASes were surprising when I first saw them.

Main target demographic kids, but not targeted exclusively at them, and thus also adults can enjoy them. Remind you of anything?-)

I haven't been following this thread especially close, but I looked in the last 3 pages, and failed to see anything requiring moderation. People can personally message me if they see any particular post in here that requires moderation. However, we have many fans of this show on this board, and I'm quite happy the fandom has been isolated to this thread. Therefore, I have no intention of locking it. If you aren't a fan of this show, ignore this thread; I've been ignoring it for quite some time.

Everypony just needs to chill and remember the Elements of Harmony and also complain to Hasbro about the Celestia toy being pink even though we wouldn't be caught dead with the dolls in the first place.

Shhh... they aren't dolls, they are action figures.
