Great job, agwawaf! Thanks for improving one of the movies I made a long time ago. I was hoping though that sword jump would have been used though (use Beam Saber in the first few frames after jumping from a wall). But it looks really good, so I'll give this one a yes.

Woa! I didn't know that it can do Saber-Jump from a wall. (I already experienced Saber-Jump from a wall.) Thanks for your explanation!

GlitchMan made a WIP of this game a while ago. I think it might be faster, because he said that he was 165 frames ahead after beating Blizzard Buffalo and you were 118. I am sorry if I am wrong :p http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=272794#272794

More 3s: That's really a tiny (~1/300, or ~0.33%) improvement for this game.

I know that. However his latest wip never syncs for me. So I couldn't watch his SNES1.51 (or 1.52 or 1.53) movie.

Pretty nice! This didn't feel all that different from the published run, and I think I preferred the published run a little more in terms of style choices. However, this is still pretty good. I was very amused to see the 1up drop from the miniboss in the Toxic Seahorse stage :-) I also like how the Blizzard Buffalo fight was different. Out of curiosity, how do Bit and Byte determine which stages to fight in? You play the same stage order as the previous run, but Byte appears one stage later in your run. I'll give this a Yes vote. I'm curious, though, how much time the sword jump FractalFusion mentions would save. Luckily, all the sword use is near the end of the run, if it made sense to redo any battles.
Used to be a frequent submissions commenter. My new computer has had some issues running emulators, so I've been here more sporadically. Still haven't gotten around to actually TASing yet... I was going to improve Kid Dracula for GB. It seems I was beaten to it, though, with a recent awesome run by Hetfield90 and StarvinStruthers. (http://tasvideos.org/2928M.html.) Thanks to goofydylan8 for running Gargoyle's Quest 2 because I mentioned the game! (http://tasvideos.org/2001M.html) Thanks to feos and MESHUGGAH for taking up runs of Duck Tales 2 because of my old signature! Thanks also to Samsara for finishing a Treasure Master run. From the submission comments:

I vote Yes too, mainly for the obvious technical quality and entertainment, but... if you're losing frames, it will definitely be obsoleted in the future, maybe by yourself, maybe by someone else.. shouldn't it be a perfect movie? o.o

Because If I made Byte fight in former stage, I had to lost frames to manipulate luck.

If I reached 37ms....I would do. However, not. If I find improvements for sub 38m, I'll try again.

I have it written in the http://tasvideos.org/GameResources/SNES/MegamanX/Data.html page. Bit may appear at an unbeaten stage if you have cleared 2-3 Mavericks, determined by RNG/luck manipulation. Bit must appear if you have cleared 4 Mavericks. Byte may appear at an unbeaten stage if you have cleared 5-6 Mavericks, determined by RNG/luck manipulation. Byte must appear if you have cleared 7 Mavericks.

I found a possibility to save many frames. It is easy. Just use J version rom. In intro stage of J version rom, 2 comments fewer than U version rom (I didn't see comments of later stages). J rom is used in some TASes. Because of fewer comments. But I don't know that I can use J version rom for the game. Also, I think my next is "100% good ending" of the game. So I need your opinions about rom version. Thanks.

If the only difference between the J ROM and the U ROM is the amount of text in the game, then that is not considered a good enough reason to use the J ROM. There have even been several runs that were cancelled or rejected due to language choice: for instance, the current Link's Awakening any% run's first submission was on the J ROM and cancelled for language reasons.

Text differences are normally ignored when calculating obsoletions; if you use a version with text 1000 frames shorter, you're going to have to save at least 1001 frames to get an improvement. Also, non-English versions are often rejected for entertainment reasons; unless the text makes up a really obnoxiously huge amount of the game (and sometimes even then), the English version's typically considered more entertaining on an English-speaking website, unless there's some trick that only works in the Japanese version. (Typically, the US version is the only accepted version because European English versions tend to have the PAL/NTSC timing difference.)
