That's a 759 frames improvement. Most frames are impoved by better boss fighting, quicker uphill running and less fruits beeing collected.

Game objectives

  • Sync samples with sound CPU

Comments

Tricks used in this TAS

  • Backwards jumping
To perfom backwards jumps press left one frame before the charakter is able to jump. But it don't work after throwing a boomerang or a hammer.
  • High-jump cancel
After a High-jump it's possible to cancel the jump by throwing a boomerang or a hammer. Usefull in vertical levels.
  • Backwards running
At fullspeed press Right+Left for a few frames, this will cause the charakter turns around, accerlate by pressing Right, after several frames press Right+Left again and so on. This is slower than normal running, so it's only for entertainment.

Stage comments

  • I collected fruits in the underwater levels to avoid dying.
  • Not every downhill slope accerlate the charakter, some also decrease the speed value.

DarkKobold: Accepting as an improvement to the published movie.
Toothache: publication underway

This is a pretty dull game. Lots of Run Right For Justice, only really broken up by Swim Right For Justice which really isn't an improvement. Is the purpose of avoiding fruit solely to try to keep your lifebar low so the bonus tally takes less time? If so, there are times when you slow down to avoid fruit even though you've just taken other fruit (thus your lifebar is maxed out). For example level 2-1. For that matter, you often slow down to avoid collecting weapons (c.f. walking under a boomerang in 2-2). Why? In 5-3 you run into a wall before jumping, thus losing your horizontal speed. Is that really necessary to avoid the fruit?

i didnt collected boomerangs in 2-2, because boomerangs are the worse weapons for boss fighting and i wasnt able to collect the hammer at the end of 2-3 i had to lose horizontal speed in 5-3 to jump lowest a point in the lifebar makes 20 more frames at the end of a level.

Derakon: If you grab a fruit when you have full health, it can still slow you down, because the timer which decides when to decrease your health resets. So I believe that grabbing a fruit at full health in 2-1 still loses time, even if it's not as much time as when health is not full. TASeditor: Good improvement! The backwards jumping was a little overused, but it was interesting. I was glad to see you using vertical shots, which make the water stages a lot more entertaining. The high jump cancel is also awesome. At this point, stages 3-2, 4-2, and 5-3 are awesome, with the fast vertical movement. You also do a really nice job abusing hitboxes in the boss fights, especially the last boss. (Nice timing of the input end!) I wish 2-1 and 5-1 were less laggy, but I'm not sure you can do too much about that. Yes vote.
Used to be a frequent submissions commenter. My new computer has had some issues running emulators, so I've been here more sporadically. Still haven't gotten around to actually TASing yet... I was going to improve Kid Dracula for GB. It seems I was beaten to it, though, with a recent awesome run by Hetfield90 and StarvinStruthers. (http://tasvideos.org/2928M.html.) Thanks to goofydylan8 for running Gargoyle's Quest 2 because I mentioned the game! (http://tasvideos.org/2001M.html) Thanks to feos and MESHUGGAH for taking up runs of Duck Tales 2 because of my old signature! Thanks also to Samsara for finishing a Treasure Master run. Understood, but is more time lost from the bonus counter than is gained from not slowing down to avoid the fruit?

Nice improvement of a pretty dull game. If this were the first run I'd probably vote meh on game choice, but since it's already published and this version is faster... the choice seems obvious.

I find something about this game irritating, but I can't pinpoint what it is. It's probably the sound effects. At any rate, it is a nice improvement over the previous movie so of course the vote here is yes.

Derakon: I tried to get the fastest, of course. And this one was the fastest I got, even this game has weird memory adresses. So I was not really sure about some ram adesses I searched for, so I ignored them. Exxonym: Yes that are the sound effects for some reasons, I don't know why they are like this. Ironically my internet from my PC suck again, at the same time a year ago, when I TASed this. :D

I would’ve voted no if it were a new submission, but it being an improvement I don’t see how it can’t be accepted…

You don't have current run that is rated (unrated movie counts as 0 points).
