Not specifically these TASers, but there is by-TASer list for 2011: Wiki: MoviesFrom2011ByAuthor

Why is it now required that nominees for TASer of the year receive a rookie award or an award for a specific platform? This makes perfect sense to me for the Best TAS award, since a TAS has necessarily only one platform, but TASers can work in many systems. For example, someone who's not a rookie could be the runner-up in all platforms and not get a nomination, when, at least for me, he/she could be a strong candidate for the award. And to make it clearer, I'm not saying there's any unfairness with the current list, I don't think anything close to my example happened this year. I'm just asking what's the reason behind the change. By the way, my votes go to Aglar, Ryuto, sparky and x2poet.

I, for one, miss Dooty in that list.

I really have to go with X2poet. The guy brought home the entire metal slug series (even the gba version!).

I would have prefered the method we used in 2010 for this award. I'd choose X2poet anyway, though, that guy's been like a machine ;)

While X2poet's output was impressive I am voting for Aglar as he had the best quality v quantity ratio in my opinion. Aglar is the best TASer currently working and is overdue for this award. P.S. I share p4wn3r's lament. Candidates for this award really should be selected by nomination.

Nitsuja not only constructed a TASing platform almost entirely on his own, but he also used it incredibly well for one of the best games ever made.

That should be counted as his work on this run. He developed Windows TAS tools for this game in the first place.

I agree with p4wn3r on this. I believe that this makes it a little unfair for others that have worked hard on their TASes last year.

Oops. TASer of the year was not supposed to be the winners of each platform. It works for TAS of the year because one movie only encompasses one platform. But a TASer may work on a variety of platforms. I think maybe to be fair, the existing people should be kept in the list but that we reset the polls and give some time for nominating of some other people.

I agree with adelikat, all the listed TASers are indeed very good (and I already voted for a couple of them, in fact), but maybe there are other ones worth mentioning. +1 for reset poll and additional nominations.

I agree with both of p4wn3r and adelikat. In honest, I don't want to say. But... I was nominated for (maybe) not rookie of the year but Sneser of the year like Zeupar and moozooh said. I'm afraid that many player couldn't understand their message and I said this on my own.

X2poet deserves this award. He TASed an entire series in ONE year!
Current project: Gex 3 any% Paused: Gex 64 any% There are no N64 emulators. Just SM64 emulators with hacky support for all the other games.

while it is a great TAS, I don't think it's enough alone for a "TASer of the year award"

Imo, one should consider that optimizing a 3D game takes infinetly longer than a 2D game. With every move you make you have to test a veriety of angles, enemy manipulation is harder, the RNG can't be as easily manipulated, etc. So if one, one hour and thirty minutes long, 3D game isn't enough to make TASer of the year, that is pretty crappy for those TASers, since it's basically ipossible to TAS more than one in a year. I'm not saying other TASers might not deserve this award, I'm just saying dismissing Grunz because he tackled a long-ass 3D game, on an emulator that desynchs like hell, is unfair.

Slowking, your post is unbelievably so wrong that I am not sure where to begin smashing it. You are a very ignorant person.
