game objectives:
  • emulator used FCEUX 2.1.6 and works good on FCEUX 2.0.0 (not good on 2.1.5)
  • 2p
  • glitchy warp abuse

comments

this run is just a remake of previous movie .
Previous movie abuse too much pauses that it take more frame to press the ending inputs (a+b).
NOTE: a+b must be press at end
enjoyed

Here the ending starts at frame 4948. In the previous movie it starts at 6980. 00:33.87 seconds faster guys!!! PS: encoding... EDIT: the input of the previous movie was totally copied until the jet glitch restart.

If half the starting input is copied from the previous movie, should the old authors be added as coauthors? Regardless, congratulations on improving the glitch!
Used to be a frequent submissions commenter. My new computer has had some issues running emulators, so I've been here more sporadically. Still haven't gotten around to actually TASing yet... I was going to improve Kid Dracula for GB. It seems I was beaten to it, though, with a recent awesome run by Hetfield90 and StarvinStruthers. (http://tasvideos.org/2928M.html.) Thanks to goofydylan8 for running Gargoyle's Quest 2 because I mentioned the game! (http://tasvideos.org/2001M.html) Thanks to feos and MESHUGGAH for taking up runs of Duck Tales 2 because of my old signature! Thanks also to Samsara for finishing a Treasure Master run. From the submission comments:
Shoutouts and thanks to mklip2001 for arguably being the nicest and most supportive person on the forums.

That's interesting, let's hope the record time soon crosses the 1 minute line, so it becomes especially obvious this run needs its own category. Yes vote.

This Input was copied from 1920M anyway. Edit: ok, checked the diff in Taseditor and it appears to be different, although you can't tell it by the game Output.

How does that work? Faster run = new category? What?

Wow, this is great! The part after input ends is a lot funnier because of the random sprites falling down the screen before Rash appears and then disappears, turning all of the colors negative, and the faster game over. Great improvement, Marx. Yes vote!

What's going on, from a technical standpoint? Was one of the objects loaded a checkpoint from Rat Race or something, which would explain the weird pallete?

The point is not that it's just faster, but that it skips entire game.

Sorry, I guess I meant, what specifically was going on. What was it loading instead of what it should have been.

You can post the updated .fm2 here and ask for someone with the right permissions to replace the submission.

Note: I'm not going to accept any movie which requires extra input at the end to complete. Ensure that your movie completes the game. When you're done improving, give me a link to your new file, and I will replace it.

Right now two battletoad submission is being compete. I really can't improve beyond 58 seconds so I'm about to cancel it but what do you guys think, should I wait or cancel it?

Marx, can you describe the process how you TASed this game? How you managed to beat previous run without learning the deep stuff on the game engine?
