I thought that Wing Commander the movie was just coincidentally named the same as the game...

that seems pretty farfetched. How common is the phrase "wing commander" such that making a movie with no connection to the game would happen. More likely, a movie with the same premise, plot, and general feel as Wing Commander would be named Flight Commander or something like that. I don't see how they could have gotten away with naming it Wing Commander without the connection to the game...

Wing Commander movie has a connection to the game series. The producer (or was it the director?) of the games, Chris Roberts, decided that he's better off in the movie biz and produced that big steamin ball of utter crap. The plot is ... lacking and using space ships in submarine-action... geh. I unfornately own the VHS-version of it. :/ http://imdb.com/title/tt0131646/

Uma thurman? I think she's too skinny, need someone stronger (i mean, samus has to carry that armor), i also think she's too tall, i dont imagine samus being tall, it's a stylization in the game but she looks short it would be weird to see samus being played by a tall actress
