Use IPS XP to patch this file. Not sure this works for other IPS patches. Trainer IPS: http://www.geocities.com/visualyoshi/SMBTrainer.zip Movie File: http://www.geocities.com/visualyoshi/SMBTrainedFCM.zip The game was very fast, it cause some level glitch. I can't make the glitch in some maze levels, so I have to walk. (4-4 and 7-4) Mario is always invincible.

I'm confused. How is that on topic? It's not from a Super Mario game, and it's not a false rumor because you just told us that it's true.
Trust me. What I posted is on-topic. Just take my word for it. :x

I would also like to hear a little about this version of Super Mario Bros.. I tend not to go patching my ROMs all willie-nillie until I know what something does.

It's a hack that makes Mario's horizontal movement faster than the game can scroll the level. It also makes Mario invincible. Nothing particularly interesting in my opinion.

Silly hopper. SMRPG was published after FF6. Therefore it is completely on topic, for being about a Mario game. :P

Excellent. I always wondered what was on the other side of the flagpole.

Oh, that one. I'm quite familiar with that patch. . . I didn't like it that much. I do have to say, though, that the version I had didn't make Mario invincible.

I'm new, and that means I'm not even all that sure this is the place to be suggesting this, but... I think someone should make a time attack to beat SMB with the minimum amount of points: 500. If you can find ways to get less points, that'd be even better, but you need to get 100 points on all levels, without getting any power-ups or damaging any enemies or getting any coins, while still beating the game as fast as possible. Anyone up for the challenge?

Ummm, this means you'll have to wait until time is nearly up (since you get score for time left) so this will be very, very boring and the time will be fixed too.

Oh. That's right. I forgot about the timing thing. But, in the levels you don't complete, such as those that lead towards warps that you go to, you'll have to go fast and use glitches. Also, there may be ways found out that I don't know of to get rid of having to wait for the right time. Some sort of way to speed up the time as it goes down. Also, is there a time bonus for Bowser's Castle?

This kind of video is actually the first movie I did with Famtasia. I don't have a copy, but it would take almost no effort to create one.

Yeah, but I still think it'd be cool to see. Plus, you could jazz it up by beating the warp, pre-warp, and Bowser's Castle stages as fast as possible.

And you could fill the other levels (1-1, 4-1, 8-1, 8-2, 8-3) with all kinds of tricks. But you can't have a mushroom, break a brick, take a coin or kill a single enemy. There _is_ some challenge in the task. Some coins in 8-1 are quite hard to avoid.

Yes, as well as you having to get to the very bottom of the flag at the precise moment when it goes down to 0, and make sure not to get killed by the enemies you can't kill along the way. Though, the timing and not-being-killed wouldn't be so much of a hard task for YOU, Bisqwit. :P Yeah, you're a good time attacker.

There was a 500 points run on the high score challenge site. I'm too lazy to look for the link, but I just put the fmv on yousendit: http://s24.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=2KDLRMSSTJHY035741VEK4ICOQ

Hate to steal the thhread but where could one find the "Super Baka/Crazy God Technique movie for SMB1" [Edited by Bisqwit: Was a reply to MMX&MMX2 thread, created a new topic out of it as the author should have done in first place.]

The link's not working for me. Also, now that I think about it, the "SMB Speedwalk" video also would have more of a fixed time than normal videos, too, yet it's been put up...

Is there any interest in the run at all? If there isn't, I'll promptly cancel and think up something else that's more entertaining to do.

Why do you need to go at walking speed? Can't you go at running speed by pressing left for one frame, and then just hold right and jump constantly?

No, because this little "glitch" as I'll call it brings upon some speed issues. Mainly, pressing left basically slows whatever momentum you had going forward, so that wouldn't be a good idea. I'm basically going about as fast as I can, and if I could go at the running speed going forwards while walking backwards, I certainly would do so.
