First try practicing the language others use here. English, you know. (No offense meant. Why do people think that if you offer frank and honest suggestions, you're automatically malicious?)

People are conditioned to think that if you don't present critical issues with a pleasant and flowering demeanor you're attacking them personally. I blame Sesame Street, because Big Bird doesn't take enough flak.

Since I'm under the impression you want to do it realtime, I would recommend watching TASes realtime and paying extra attention to when jump is pressed. Then practice. Lots and lots of practice. If it was easy to do, the programmers would have tried to fix it, wouldn't you think?

Walljumping in realtime is pretty much a luck thing, even when you get the jump right, when you hit a wall you cannot always get the second jump.

Wall jumping in realtime IS a matter of luck. The timing and collision point must both be precisely met, and isn't reliably accomplished by skill alone. If you practice at it for a fair amount of time you should be able to get a few jumps in as a fluke, but that's about it.

There are many locations where you can just run off an edge and walljump off of the first wall you hit. I know that I have been able to get 5+ walljumps in a row while practicing it. Obviously luck, but it takes skill to be able to hit it perfectly once you catch your foot in a wall. EDIT: It is certainly not an easy thing to pull off, but a good amount of the time I can get them when I want to. ALthough sometimes I can't get them for a LONG time. So it goes both ways.

agreed. although i do not watch all of the smb speedruns, the only one i have seen in real time is by Andrew Gardikis. Of course, i am sure there is other examples; considering this guy played the game constantly for quite a while, getting a consistent wall jump is possible, but only under extreme circumstances. edit: heh, looks like it is easier than i thought, but as stated, consistency takes practice ;) edit2: woah, turns out andrewg is andrew gardikis... mind blowing

As far as I know, the timing for walljumping is 1 frame, isn't it?

I think it's more than that, depending on how far Mario goes into the wall.

It's not impossible so much as a game of darts while blindfolded. You'll hit the mark eventually, because you know where to aim, but you won't know you hit it until after the fact.

The non-tool-assisted run of SMB1 does a walljump in World 8-4.

Okay, I have seen that one guy on Battle of Olympus over-react to left+right and even Link out of Zelda II, what about Mario out of this one?

I am fairly certain that this has been tested before.

Left + Right in SMB1 makes mario accelerate faster from a stop, but only when you jump. Plus, he can't go faster than walking speed. However, the current TASes do use it as an acceleration boost.

Not sure on this, if someone sould confirm it. In SMB I'm working on the -3 ending for the FDS, and I just completely jumped through blocks in 1-2 as if they weren't there! This is probably due to a lack of block detection in the FDS, and it seems to be fixed in SMB2j. The same thing with luck can happen with Koopa's shells and coin blocks.
See Youtube page (GIRfanaticTAS) for all runs and stuff.

Something I saw on Youtube a few days ago: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=btgdrpu2PIs&feature=user Summary: Sped-up version of SMB1 where anything that would give you points kills you; player somehow tricks the 1-2 warp zone into taking her to World 8. Wondering if this is possible on a non-patched version of SMB.

I doubt it; it's probably something related to the high speed.
