Just trolling.

...
This is an improvement of a few seconds. This is the fastest I got out of 5 different runs. I am pretty sure I optimized it so far.

About the game

On the very left and right sides there's an area which can't be reached. Enemies in this area can't be hit.
It's possible to fire two shots.
bla bla bla...

I also order you to vote no.
Yes voters will burn in hell. And meh voters will be slapped with a banana peel to death.
Only no voters will rise to heaven.

adelikat: Audience was not entertained, but technical quality was good and meets all Vault requirements. Thus accepting for publication to the Vault.

I didn't think it was possible, but I somehow inexplicably enjoyed this more than I should have. The previous submission of this game left me high and dry, but this looks so much more polished that I couldn't help but smirk. I should vote Meh, but my body is forcing me to vote Yes. See you in hell! :) EDIT: I suddenly want to see frame wars for this in the Vault.

Oh yeah! Btw, TASeditor, you said that the highest score could be reached in about 5 minutes. That's not too long, so it wouldn't matter if it wasn't that interesting, at least for me. We need more highscore runs!

I tried this with input copy-pasting. But it desynced. I will not do a highest score run manually.

No problem. I might give it a try for myself.

This was much nicer than before. I still would like to see if it can be improved by prioritizing low-hanging aliens (smaller missile distance) over the far ones until they've done one dropping-down turn at the edge. (I do realize you can't clean them entirely horizontally, and that wasn't my point earlier either.)

Okay so I voted meh, because I want to stay on earth... and possibly go to purgatory.

If you want it in the Vault, you should have voted no, that's the idea of the Vault... Yes -> Moon (or maybe star), No -> Vault. I just followed the wishes of the movie creator. What happens when the score overflows?

Uh, right. My bad. That was a Yes; it was entertaining because of the speed at which the ship blasted away the intruders and finished the level.

I'd rather a more aesthetic path to kill Invaders for such a short run. vote meh.

The new encode makes this run unironically awesome. Why on earth would I vote no on it? Though I too am curious if bisqwit's proposal has any merit.

The encode that shows all the bullets makes a huge, huge difference! Thanks. Question: I know that the game just repeats endlessly, but are all the levels completely identical to each other?

No. There are different types of levels. The only difference about them is single player and multiplayer and the three rocks at the bottom move.

And missile speed and missile invisibility. And were the aliens invisible as well in half of modes?

In that case I think it would be better if this TAS played several levels instead of just one. Yes, the chosen ending point would be arbitrary, but I think we can very well make an exception to that principle in this case. It would be much more interesting if this played at least 3 or 4 levels (if they indeed are slightly different from each other.)

the game does loop, but it's not a 1 level loop. invaders start at a lower level at each level until you get to a certain one. btw this run uses a glitch/cheat (not sure which) where you get to fire two shots at once if you start on the first possible frame.
