Here is my time-attack of this simplistic game for the NES. It was made with FCEUltra, no warps or passwords, no programming errors, no damage taken.
This game is very loosely based off of the classic piece of American literature with the same name. However, I don't believe that Tom Sawyer battled zepplins while flying on clouds, or threw rocks at a gigantic octopus on a pirate ship. However, I might have missed those parts :P
This game tracks your time-units for each level, and at the end adds them all up and gives you your total. You must wait a little while on the The End screen in order to see the final results.
The most difficult part in making this movie was the mini-boss before the final boss, the 6 dragons. I used probably 500 rerecords trying to manipulate luck just right so that I could kill them quickly. The end result is the best I could do after 500 rerecords, and frankly, it's good enough for me.

Truncated: Due to low votes, and the fact that I find it very unimpressive, rejecting this submission.

adelikat: Unrejecting this submission for consideration into the Vault tier

other than the two mis shots in the first stage ship, the movie was very solid. I remember playing this so i know that the timed shots arent that easy. good work :)

Those two shots were so that I could get the pirates to jump so I could run under them. I should have mentioned that in the submission.

Very well-played. Between that and the sheer "WTF"'s this game drew from me (I grew up on MONSTER PARTY, remember), I say yes. The only major issue is that the rafting level is about as exciting as your typical Coleman Francis film, but the rest makes up for it. -Josh
but then you take my 75 perchance chance of winning, if we was to go one-on-one, and then add 66 and two-thirds ch...percents...i got a 141 and two-thirds chance of winning at sacrifice

Personally, I didn't find it impressive. It's linear and too simplistic.

Watching the ending sequence, it appears to be a dream.

My observations: - on one of the very first ladders on the first boat, you seem to wait for the section to scroll down instead of just jumping down to the lower deck. Is this intentional? - Rafting sequence is a pain in the... Nose... Despite very good handling and planning here. Overall a very good film. Quite worthy of an encoding.

I think more jumping away from the raft then catching up with it would have been good for the raft part, I liked when it was used the one time. The self-scrolling scenes were a little dull, but I liked the platforming parts. Interesting shots, and a fair amount of dodging- I vote yes.

You have to be climbling a ladder for ~5-10 frames before you can jump off. That is why this happened.

I did notice a chance to improve this for maybe 10ish easy frames. If you make it so that when you throw the very final rock at the boss, you're standing as far away as possible, you can stop the movie earlier. I don't think this was done, at least. It's up to the author to consider this. Edit: in fact, the final amount of frames is an exact multiple of 60. I'm not sure if this means you'd be able to lower the time by 1 second with even a 1 frame improvement.

Not a terrificly exciting game, but it does appear to be a perfect run, and I believe in celebrating perfection. It's somewhat entertaining to watch Tom unload a bunch of rocks and hit three enemies in quick succession, or hit enemies that are very distant with perfect accuracy. I vote yes.

Why do you get the invincibility on the 2nd map? Is that just for variety? It appears that you also miss a few times on the alligator. For the boss of the game, how come you can shoot him twice at the end, but not at the beginning? Or does this have to do with his getting closer to you?

I got the invincibility because that was such a boring level, I decided to add in a little variety. If I remember right, you have to hit the alligator when his mouth is shut a few times to get him to open his mouth. I hit the boss of the game more often near the end of the fight because, like you said, he is closer to me than at the beginning of the fight.

Another utterly boring game done 'perfect'.... The main problem which makes it boring is the fact that it _seems_ to me that it's not very difficult to play perfectly with frame advantage, therefore it seems very boring. Nothing exciting happens. Or is ít just me? The playing itself was flawless to my eyes. ;)

You don't fire when his mouth is shut, but you don't miss any shots. It just looks like a few shots have no effect (like the other bosses where you wait for the damage to take before firing again).

Very crappy game if you ask me. The run was ok though. But since I don't know much about the physics at all in this game, I don't know how good it is played. It some times looked like you didn't time the jumps etc, and also, those flying things right before last boss, coulden't they have been killed earlier in order to advance faster? I'm sorry I'm not much of a help here. Just digging in the bottom of submissions to see if there are some nifty stuff to dig up.

Not the worst NES game ever created, but definitely not a good game. Not even knowing the was a submission for it, I found a ROM, because I remembered my neighbors renting it and playiing through the entire thing years and years ago... amazing what childhood memories can do to skew how good or bad a game is. I got a chuckle out of the final boss being Injun Joe on some kind of sea monster. And in a cave, no less. The game is pretty poor... and is 1-hit-to-die the entire way through, I think. Pretty good run of it, though. Voting yes, though this thread has been dead since almost forever (before Highness bumped it).

The run is good, but the game just isn't that special and doesn't look that challenging. Other than timing shots, minor shortcuts, precision and a tiny bit of positioning, there's nothing out-of-the-ordinary about this run. I like perfection more when it isn't as easy. I call it 'meh'.

Seems like a good run, but the game is bad, I ended up fast-fowarding through most of it. I think that bad games can make publishable TASes but usually because something creative was done or a glitch exploited (like A Boy and His Blob), anything that makes someone watching think "wow I wouldn't have thought of that" This game has none of that. In addition, the enemies are easily dealt with so all the platform levels are just walking forward and shooting. And the raft level was WAY TOO LONG!
It's hard to look this good. My TAS projects

I thought the raft level could have used more jumping... since there doesn't appear to be any other way to make that level any more bearable to watch. It was a very long 10 minutes, to my mind, but I don't imagine it could have been much faster. Meh.

The most already said I think. I voted Yes, because the run looks good. No errors. Wonder me at the beginning a bit over the missed shots, buts see myself, that the enemies jumps over you. Raft Stage was boring, but its selfscrolling, so not much what you can do here, except more jumpings as others says. All other Levels looks great and fast. See not much room for improvments. So Yes..
