Introducing a minimalist mmx2 run. NOTE:I make the run in very short time so It look very un-optimal. I barely touch my computer these days due to power shortage.

COMMENTS

I fought flame stag before wheel gator so that i can get the heart without taking damage.
I kill enemies only when necessary to proceed.
Takes all items including shoryuken(flame uppercut)
some boss are lot slower.
Uses additional weapon for speed ups
ANYWAY I enjoy the run myself.

Nach: Judging.

canceling for emulator outdated

So when you say "minimalist" you mean that it is a pacifist run?

It seems your goals are, by priority: 1. Collect all upgrades 2. Take no damage 3. Damage as few enemies as possible 4. Fastest completion I'm guessing 2 and 3 are why you don't go under that obstacle in the intro stage? I haven't watched all of the run yet, but why are some boss fights a lot slower? Is it due to your goal of not taking any damage? Did you really have to kill the jumping shield guys in the shoryuken stage? You seem to lose a large amount of time simply due to lack of precision in your movements. For example, in the ascent to the boss refight teleporter room, you lose over 10 frames even though that section has no enemies or damage that you have to avoid. This seems to happen every time you have to scale a wall.

Voting no: overall optimization needs work; doesn't make use of known techniques; uses an obsolete emulator that is known to emulate X2 poorly; and has too many conflicting goals in one run.

jlun2, your quote is skipping some vital parts.

Huh. I was looking at this, and since Snes9x was listed along with Famtasia, I had concluded that Nach forgot to update the post. :P Sorry.

Marx, keep in mind that the outdated emulator was the least of this run's problems.

Yeah I know. And optimization is too sloppy
