With the new categories (moons, vault), would it be possible to TAS games such as BOF 1 and BOF 2 without doing the best ending? In the latter case especially, the "sad" ending would save up quite a bit of time, notably by killing Ganer and not going after Eichichi

Vault accepts 2 types of runs if they were not liked enough to go to Moons: any% and 100%/best ending. If the run is liked, it can have different goals as well and still got o Moons.

It is still possible for "bad ending" to be rejected if it is judged not to constitute game completion. The Metal Max bad ending run was rejected for this reason.

I think this "incompletion" would be the case with the bad ending in BOF 1 when not getting Agni or in BOF 2 by not opening the gates of Infinity. But my proposal might have a chance

If the bad ending is just 'good ending, except you do one decision wrong and end the game early' then it's not interesting enough to warrant its own TAS. If the bad ending and the good ending require a lot of differences (such as sonic - collecting the emeralds vs not collecting the emeralds - or such as pokemon fire red/leaf green - collecting 60 pokemon along the way so you can rematch the elite four, or collecting only what you need and ending after the first elite four) they're worth being different TASes.

How much "difference" are we talking about? In my estimate, it would be at least 5 minutes on a 4.75 h TAS

Oh, through the discussions, I knew BOF 1 would be rejected. However, I have yet to experiment BOF 2 to check on delays, because they are substantial. So far, my estimations say that it's 5 minutes quicker by not going to Township and Guntz to talk to Eichichi. I should be able to bring proper estimation later
