Quick Rundown on previous TASes:

The First submission used Law and had an in-game time of 1'43"81
The next submission used King which had an in-game time of 1'25"93
The third run (which was not submitted) used Yoshimitsu with an in-game time of 50"28.
The Fourth and first approved TAS had an in-game time of 35"98.
This is a 26"50 (569 (~00:09.48) ingame improvement) TAS which uses the truest fastest moves of Yoshimitsu to finish of the fights.

Spikestuff's comments:

  • Japanese version? Why Japanese version? Stuff loads up quicker at the start... and the main language is english so yea...
  • The improvements involves an in-game time of 9"48.
  • I wrote stuff in my previous TAS incorrectly especially about fastest move that was an oversight, I used the 3rd fastest combo in my previous TAS and now we have left punch with Spinning Harakiri.
  • N?K helped loads in this TAS. Majority of the work was his and I was basically the cleaner minimizing the input.
  • unknown Re-records is shown because I mainly used Notepad++ and abused loads with the program which means I couldn't give a rough estimate on this one, sorry about that.
  • Our fastest round is with Kazuya with a time of 1.22 (73 Frames) due to him charging, our slowest round was with Kazuya of 1.38 (83 Frames) and the fastest Fight average was, you guessed it Kazuya of an average time of 1.30 (78 Frames).
  • When reading the subtitles it is mentioning everything in Frame time 0x000C4F80 - 2 bytes.
  • Luck manipulation was done with ghost input and/or input which was chopped to get the hit on the opposing character.

N?K's comments:

I have fate with lucky control. Lucky are things hard to say about them. Just spam buttons and woot, got it :D

Possible Improvemnts:

Getting every AI fight to charge (which is actually impossible, they all depend on the previous fight)
Suggested Screenshot: 2605
We are both voting Meh

Noxxa: Judging.
Noxxa: Nice improvement on the previous run, although viewer response still isn't very positive. Accepting to the Vault as an improvement to the published run.
feos: Spikestuff, don't you dare...

Obvious yes vote. Could you wrote how many in-game frame takes the smallest in-game time unit? You wrote in-game frames in the subtitles but in-game time unit in the table. edit: handsome Spikestuff added frame times to submission text.

Neat. It definitely looks much more polished now.
http://www.youtube.com/Noxxa <dwangoAC> This is a TAS (...). Not suitable for all audiences. May cause undesirable side-effects. May contain emulator abuse. Emulator may be abusive. This product contains glitches known to the state of California to cause egg defects. <Masterjun> I'm just a guy arranging bits in a sequence which could potentially amuse other people looking at these bits <adelikat> In Oregon Trail, I sacrificed my own family to save time. In Star trek, I killed helpless comrades in escape pods to save time. Here, I kill my allies to save time. I think I need help.

In theory this should be an extremely boring movie. It's the exact same move again and again, in each round of each single fight. Every fight is almost identical. It should feel repetitive and boring. Yet in practice, very surprisingly, and like with the previous submission, it's quite entertaining. (It helps that the movie is so short.) I didn't get even close to bored or annoyed by the repetitiveness. It was surprisingly fun to watch each opponent defeated so rapidly. (Btw, what's with the screen glitches in the video? Is it a problem with the emulation?)

Yea it's a problem with the emulator. The actual game does not have this issue.

I'm not 100% sure that it's an emulation problem. Numerous youtube videos shows even more crazy graphics and physics glitch on real console. Link to video Link to video

moar fighting game runs pls,i'd love to see all tekkens and other games get this treatment
I want all good TAS inside TASvideos, it's my motto. TAS i'm interested: Megaman series, specially the RPGs! Where is the mmbn1 all chips TAS we deserve? Where is the Command Mission TAS? i'm slowly moving away from TASing fighting games for speed, maybe it's time to start finding some entertainment value in TASing.

Runs like this are the reason the site should have a place for fighting game TASes aiming for speed. Incredibly repetitive, but optimized to the frame and impossible to reproduce in real time. Again, I vote yes because it's entertaining in a strange way.
Current project: Gex 3 any% Paused: Gex 64 any% There are no N64 emulators. Just SM64 emulators with hacky support for all the other games.

Quite honestly, I felt like I was watching the old run. Then again, this wasn't aiming for entertainment. No vote, but approval for Vault.

can’t you manipulate a counter hit for OHKOs like in Tekken 3?

N?K had a look at the first fight and saved 5 frames (74 frames) from the first fight but that's only on first fight. When he continued the next fight against Nina took longer so the payoff would be much harder to do. To give an idea of differences Yoshimitsu had to walk back 26 frames before committing Harakiri to save those 5 frames. So it's worth it but it would take a much longer time to execute and do. N?K and I agreed on not doing Tekken 2 again until possibly a later time... but I'm not confirming it.
