Hello, I am new here and this is my first attempt at a TAS video, if I have done anything wrong or you have feed back please let me know. I have just completed my TAS of Phelios. I did the run with the BizHawk emulator. The last frame I had pressed a button was 105760. Is this run of the quality needed to be submitted? Here is the link the my run. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/33068406/Phelios%20(U)%20%5Bc%5D%5B!%5D.bkm Thank you all for your time. edit: I cant seem to make the link work. Just copy and past the whole thing and it should work.

How's it going, Scoboose? Welcome to the forums! I can't seem to download your file. When I copy and paste your URL, all I get is a page listing your total input. You should be able to upload BizHawk movie files here: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php Look forward to watching your run!

Fixed the link for you. However, browsers read it as a text-file, so to download, right-click and save target as. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/33068406/Phelios%20(U)%20%5Bc%5D%5B!%5D.bkm We do have our own WIP section though, it accepts all files of accepted emulators + LUA scripts + memory watches: http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/ Just log in to the main site with your forum username and password (click Login at the very top of the main site), then you can upload to it.

Just watched your movie on BizHawk. I have some feedback on a couple of things, in which I'll touch on. I'm sure more experienced TASers will be able to explain some details better than I. When I loaded your movie file, the first thing I noticed was your low rerecord count (31). This is fine for now since your run is a WIP, but this shows me that there's still a lot of work needed for finding optimization. In general, it looks like the boss battles and your use of auto-fire and positioning can be done faster. Have you experimented with the game's power-ups to find the best combination for speed? Also, since Phelios is an auto-scroller this really gives you an opportunity to focus on entertainment! If you haven't already, I recommend checking out Adelikat's run of Gradius http://tasvideos.org/711M.html to get an idea of some things that you can throughout the various stages. One last thing: You can stop your movie as soon as you make your last decisive input (e.g. landing the last shot on the final boss). Recording all the way through the game's ending and credits isn't normally required - and adds unnecessary time to your run. Hope this feedback helps!
