Dammit! I promise I tried, though.
I thought it'd be possible to save some frames there - I just couldn't get it to sync.
Anyway, nice improvement. Together that's more frames saved than I expected to be possible. Although sub 45 would be nice...
That's not how co-authorship works. If Masterjun did the entire input for this TAS from start to finish, Masterjun is the only author. (You can also nominate co-authors for just helping out enough in the making of the TAS, but that wasn't the case and is optional anyway.)
was hoping for some ACE when i saw masterjun, yes vote
TAS i'm interested:
Megaman series, specially the RPGs! Where is the mmbn1 all chips TAS we deserve? Where is the Command Mission TAS?
i'm slowly moving away from TASing fighting games for speed, maybe it's time to start finding some entertainment value in TASing.

This isn't ACE. In fact, if it was ACE, since Hourglass doesn't run its program in a virtual machine but on the same level of privilege as anything else on the system, it would be the first TAS that was also a Windows virus!!
I know, but I thought Masterjun just redid the parts where improvements were found and hex edited the whole thing. But maybe I'm just wrong ?
It's short enough that you could just redo the whole thing.
"2 frames were saved by using the V-key for advancing textboxes which for some reason is faster than other keys"
Explain please. Is it because of the developer (VVVVV) or it's a scan code related thing (47/0x2F)?

I don't know why that is, but I wouldn't think that the developer did this on purpose. Maybe it just has to do with the way hourglass or the computer handles different kinds of keys or something.
Warning: Might glitch to creditsI will finish this ACE soon as possible
(or will I?)
I commented on the Kirby Super Star game thread, but I have to ask.
How are people still finding this entertaining? I've seen four or five games that follow the exact pattern. Game is played for at most two minutes, then the ending is forced suddenly do to memory corruption or some other durpy thing. Nothing of the game is shown. Nothing interesting is shown as a glitch. It is just a hard cut to the end.

To me seeing a game either broken by glitch or just being played not as intended is the most fun in TAS Videos. It shows what a human could possibly not do with a real console (most of the time) because of joystick limitation.
Don't get me wrong i love to see full run of games but force feeding the ending of a game due to coding error is just as fun and quick.
Edit : The fully broken SMW "executes arbitrary code" is a really good example of how fun code breaking can be.

Woah, woah, woah. Lets not forget it was MESHUGGAH who got that glitch. People say it was Masterjun who broke the game on YouTube.
Also, That one was part of the beginning of the "game end glitch" that one is pretty crazy. Which also falls into the same level as this TAS(and the previous Battletoad "geg").
This VVVVVV TAS is obsoleting another VVVVVV TAS which is apparently slower. Oh btw I vote YES, if I discard the previous runs it's still entertaining.
"game end glitch" has become more known this year compared to last and year before, because there is more submissions and publishes.
It is only because "game end glitch" is more done now which is able to make it more boring in a sense.
Since there are more "game end glitch" TASes coming out this year it would have the feeling of being more boring because we don't have any full TASes.
Anyways, that's what my theory consists on.
TASVideos
Tool-assisted game movies
When human skills are just not enough

Stuff I cut to make quote smaller.

Hey! I didn't say Masterjun made that run, I said that run was the same type as this. Don't confuse me with the people that think Masterjun is god or even worse, the Youtube comments.
You are right about it being more noticeable though, but there is an important second part. Masterjun and the like are getting better at breaking the game with less. The first SMW game end glitch was some mysterious fish spitting simulator with all types of nonsense. Then we get into something like the current SMW or this VVVVVVWVVvv run. It is competently destroyed to the point of not being a game, even moreso than before. The issue is that there isn't anything for a viewer to watch.
