Can the trick be done without Naryu's Love? Or does the staircase get in the way, or do you not have enough time to superslide?

NL is required.

Okay, so... in the room before that, use NL and then release a bombchu and have it go length-wise across the room. Have it timed so that it blows up on the door. Now, you want to drop it, run to the door; go through it; quickly pull back slightly towards the door and drop a bomb (the bomb should be outside the bombchu's blast radius), then run forward a tiny bit and then store the groundjump. The bombchu explosion won't blow up that bomb, but it will hit NL and make you slide (so being too close to your bomb doesn't matter since it doesn't blow up and won't cancel your superslide... this makes it a lot easier). Now, make sure your angle is perfect and you should stick. Once you hear the platform start to lower, let go of R and then you'll get inside. do something that lifts you off the ground, aka a jumpslash or a sidehop etc. Then you are good to go!

Guano, you can always try using the roll instead, but the thing is you'd need to backrun to a diagonal roll attempt and grab. Either way, there is not enough time for you to complete a roll before the cutscene starts. I don't think that it is possible w/out Nayru's Love. I mean... I was playing it at like 20-35% speed when I tried this trick and it was damn hard. Its just that the time requirements make it harder. Firstoff, when trying it, before you gain movement control you can register the button press to start drawing a bomb. That way link starts pulling by the time you can start moving (this is the difference between executing it fast enough and not executing it fast enough). Then run a very tiny bit towards the door. Normally if you stood there w/ shield out, you are too far away from the bombchu blast. This is why you get closer. Now, shield drop the bomb and immediately run forwards past the bomb and turn around and grab it. Don't use Z-target till you are pressing it and A to store the groundjump. Otherwise you waste time and compromise your angle because quickly pressing it and changing directions can skew the camera angle sideways, etc. Hope this helps. After you understand how to do it, at about 30-35% speed I can do it like 1 in 5 or so... but doing it w/ the correct angle of superslide.... I'd say 1 in 20. Plus, you have to learn the bombchu timing. Make sure it blows before the cutscene, but also w/ enough time to let you place the bomband start moving back into position to grab it. So where is Guano exactly? Like shadow -> Magic -> goroncity -> forest?

I thought you had to block an explosion with sheild to store a ground jump? How are you storing a ground jump in all this? Could you store it before going through the door? Could you use a bomb behind the door instead of bombchu? Could you finish the trick if the cut scene started mid roll?

lol. When you superslide, you are storing a groundjump. When you try to grab that bomb and have the shield out, you have stored a groundjump. You normally lose it when you let go of the shield and exit the superslide... unless you are hit by an enemy, in which the groundjump is preserved. But every superslide has a groundjump stored. So you know.

Well done Acryte, this is one of the more exciting developments I've seen in a while for OoT. The game is now sufficiently broken as to remain interesting but not so much that it's just a couple of brutal glitches... This will be an exciting TAS to watch :) I really hope it makes it under 2 hours.

Guano, if you're getting Nayru's Love then its definitley advisable to do the Minuet skip and then warp to the Colosus, since you still learn the Minuet when you do the bomb hover trick into the void.

I just dont see the time saved when doing the bomb hover. I'll try. Edit: you know what would be a good screenshot? Navi says "HEY A! THE GREAT DEKU TREE WANTED US TO GO SEE THE PRINCESS" no matter where you are in the game as long as you never talk to her. I was thinking a pic of her saying that with Ganon as the final boss in the background would be funny.

when you fall into the void to skip the cutscene, you restart at the beginning of SFM and would have to go all the way back to the temple entrance. with this new time saver that needs NL anyway, once you retsart SFM, you can just immediately warp to colossus, get NL, and then warp back using the minuet. That means you only need to go through SFM once.

yeah, but i waste every single bomb. I cannot get up over the top to fall into the void without using 7 bombs. If i use 1 bomb and try to hover, Link will just fall down to the stairs. I have to start with 2. I think just going through the cutscene will be easier and not waste 7 bombs and let me save them for when they are needed for something like a superslide or what not. If someone can do this and show a way using 4-5 bombs, that would be helpful. I just dont see that trying to not do the cutscene isnt much of a time saver.

are bombs really that hard to come by? you could probably get some from those green enemies in the desert on your way to NL...

Yeah, I'd grab them from leevers or use 1 and get like 20 off lucky stone drops from those stone circles or something (though it is farther away near the entrance...) You only need enough to get you through forest. Calculate that out. When you go to Lake hylia or something oyu can restock off all the bushes. Useless I know, but slingshot can untwist the corridor... lol. _____________ I'm gonna go searching for any tricks in Forest... Bow earlier or Boss Key Skip (Adult) style. I found a New Glitch. Unfortunately it has no use and require boss Key, but we should test to see if it can be done in other places... I'll make a vid soon. I have found a way to the boss door from the pillar. The same way me and AKA have talked about for months. Too bad the distance is pretty far... We'll have to see if it is possible... we may just skip both tricks and get bow and go to boss... So far I have managed the bombhover in 21 bombchus... lol NM, I think it can be done in 9 bombs/bombchus. Yup... its actually pretty easy. So far I have done it in 13. Will see if I can keep reducing it. No Nayru needed. YES. I have managed to get to the boss room in 9 bombchus. Sorry guano... does this mean you have to go back and not get gauntlets? LOL you may not be able to use this trick... In mupen the game crashes when you try to shield drop the bombchu in the void farther down.... but not in pj64... Maybe it is my comp or something.... or maybe mupen is being retarded. One could only hope it is my comp. yeah it doesn't matter what plugin I use. Mupen hates me. Kinda dumb really... it totally would have gotten us sub-2. No gauntlets, no Nayru, no requiem no bosskey or poes. That would have been it. though it is still possible... this wou

Just got to Desert with 0 bombs. Ill mess around with the manipulation of bombs and see how fast I can fill up. Haha, the best part I think is when the cutscene is about to begin for Shiek, you hear Link screaming for his life EDIT: Got 20 bombs in 4 boulders! I pulled a superslide off grabbing sliding into a rock and getting hit by a leever, used 1 bomb to blow up the wall, leaving me with 19 for the Forest Temple! W00T!

No. Basically... I'll post screenshots of my positions, its hard to tell you how far you need to fall, but I usually fall down to the floor above the last one on my 2nd bomb and then after that I go all the way to the bottom floor in the next 2-3 while making sure I don't fall too far, but fall a little bit because I move farther off the bomb/chu. I have map on when I take screens so you can see the path I take. I finish it off w/ a sidehop into the proper area at the proper height. [WILL POST SCREENS] too bad. Well, Guano, best keep on trucking w/ the other trick. I'm almost sure Mupen just hates everyone and won't let this trick happen. But you can test it out for yourself if you want, and I advise anyone who is able to do so. I can post a savestate for you if you want.

I dont understand? What are you trying to say? Here is my .zip file from Death Mountain Trail to Forest Temple entrance. If you think that there is a trick that does not allow NL or whatever, let me know now because I am going to go ahead and try and finish the Forest Temple. I didnt grab gauntlets (if that is what you thought). Im pretty sure I did this right, Enjoy!: http://download.yousendit.com/12DAFFC913D057E5

Mircrostorage has a size limit. Why does everyone keep telling me to use it? EDIT: Link works fine for me
