Goodbye, GuanoBowl. Best of luck. Yes, I've switched to regular OoT. I'm about halfway through the Deku Tree at the moment, and in total, over 20 seconds faster than Comicalflop/Guano were in that run they started a while ago. I'll hopefully get this dungeon finished tonight, although I'm having a small problem with manipulating the skulltulas. I'll post a video and the m64 when I'm done.

Good luck Guano. Thank you for all you did with OoT, I still watch (and enjoy) V1 to this day and will do no doubt for a while to come. Swordless: I'm looking forward to it :)

Swordless and I studied various frames of lag that were being caused by the MQ run. Plus, he was just dying to try and prove my ladder zip glitch doesn't exist:-p. And because I'm persuasive. And because he's cool, and agreed that a frame perfect OoT improvement should come before MQ.

20 seconds? Wow.. You must be making this really tight. Good Luck with the rest of the run.

I can't wait to see this. Are all the bombs/super slides planned out yet? If not we should get cracking on that. In the last run there were a few really small slides done while trying to make it into the castle before night, but I think it could still be done without a couple of those, and then you could do some much bigger ones in the village. Also, are all the convenient places to pick up bombs known? even if it takes you 15 seconds out of your way it could still be worth it if you get a lot of bombs. Since there will be no manual reseting, is the fastest way to die hitting your own bombchu? And can that be done at all the places were you need to die? Or what are the plans for dieing? Do we know the the strategy for hitting the chuchos with the slingshot. Like which ones to hit, when to hit them, and where you can get them to be later by hitting them.

This is the first image that popped into my mind when reading that typo. Now, to answer some questions: No, all of the bombs/superslides are not planned out yet. Only someone like mwl could do something like that, and I haven't seen him post here in a while. The Majora's Mask TAS I saw many very, very short superslides that made me cringe to how much time was wasted in setting them up, to only slide a short distance. BUT, in guano's last WIP it wasn't bad at all, so I don't know what you're going on about. swordless has good common sense, I'm sure he and I can find good spots to superslide and when not to (like maybe when to use a superbackflip instead (still gotta test how to sidehop past an enemy, then backflip off of it.) Kokiri village really is kinda small; superslides would be wastes of explosives methinks, especially since you need to wait out the bomb explosion. I believe perfect cuckoo luck manip can easily replace the need for supersliding. Yes to the bomchu question. I believe guano's most recent WIP of doing the spirit song, then getting killed off a leaver is the optimal way to do the death warp. I mean, there is a record reset mupen, but that was unofficially rejected. (frowns) we don't know the best slingshot cuckoo manipulation method yet. when swordless gets there he'll probably sort it out. because he [sarcasm]loooooooooooooooves[/sarcasm] luck manipulating.

Before you leave KV there's a long straight part, you could have the bomb ready to go from after getting the bottle, it's much (about 5 times) longer than the first superslide guano did on the castle grounds. When you first enter zora's river, blow up those rocks, then track back to get bombs, you could throw a bomb for a super slide before getting the bombs, get the bombs, then super slide. Not sure you could still do the owl skip or if you need to. After getting the fish in ZD I think there might be a pretty good superslide (ss) At the start of jaba there's a good SS.

I question how not supersliding would be faster over most distances. Since you can wait out the bomb timer by backwalking, and backwalking isn't that much slower than sidehopping, it seems like supersliding would be faster for just about any significant straight-line distance in the overworld.

yeah but for shorter distances (look at the hyrule castle section in the old run), it's a waste of explosives that could be used later. If you look at the run, there are a few places that he could not superslide longer distances than those on the castle grounds due to having used up the bombs. I think.

It was strictly necesscary to use the explosives at HC in order to meet zelda before nightfall.

How are you sure that all of those SSes were necessary?

Because a guard was blocking Link from entering the garden. I thought Guano had stressed clearly enough of how tight it was to enter before that happened....

Well, obviously if you need the bombs elsewhere then don't do it. On the other hand, bombs shouldn't be that hard to manipulate as drops, and any time you are sliding across hyrule field you could try to aim a swordslide through a grass patch. With proper manipulation, should be instant 20 bombs.

Well if this run could pick up more random bomb drops which it sounds like it could that would be best since there are a lot SSes that couldn't be used, especially in the adult part, HF, KV, DM. What is the current route now? Then can we figure out where all the potential places to get bombs are along that route? It's better to plan this stuff out ahead of time so you don't get into the middle of the run and realize you could have done an extra SS awhile back, or find out you'll need to go way out of your way to pick up some bombs cause you did too many SSes.

I'm pretty sure getting caught in the Gerudo Fortress as a child is a bad idea.

That is old. I found a more useful one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fy5gJMsKapM do super flips even while in hover mode.

Why is that? It's a nice little warp if you're going to Lake Hylia. ;)

err, it was sort of obvious that you could do mega flips with the sword glitch on, as the glitch in no way prevents you from backflipping, nor is it cancelled when you get pushed back from damage. I applaud you for finding a use for it, though.

I didn't find it, I was just posting it here. But maybe this means you can cross even larger gaps by being higher up on the ground on one side of the ledge; just drop a bomb beneath your feet, then do if for that extra little bit of distance that comes from being a little bit higher.

You can get a fish or a bug for the reverse BA right, as you don't need the water medallion? Which would be faster? Can someone with intimate knowledge of this game figure out where all the places to get bombs are along that route? Did I hear you can cut grass while SSing? Makes me think first trip to LH you could get filled up on bombs while SSing from place to place. But are there grass patches/enemies conveniently along the way? Then what about bomb pickups while SSing in HF, you'll go from castle to KV, KV to KF, (pretty sure you can get bombs while in LW), KF to LLR. Are there any patches/enemies along these routes? Then when you get epona she cuts grass and kills stuff right? Can you get some bombs while going from LLR to LH, LH to FP, LH to GV? Once you warp to Graveyard you'll be on foot rest of the way right? With a bottle on b? So could you pick up anymore bombs besides maybe killing guys with bombs?

Bug is required to glitch the Nocturne of Shadow, so fish is probably out of the question. It's easy to get one though, just cut one of the grasses near the scarecrows at Lake Hylia (I forget which one) as a child while getting the Gold Scale.
