Well it's definitely far from "as intended", because tons of tricks are used to skip portions of temples, but in a more entertaining way than using RBA. Any optimal tricks/glitches that don't use RBA are being used in the temples

I could get the settings to work again, this run is always desynching on me in the deku tree no matter what I do.
Try deleting your .ini files and then trying. Sometimes a random setting that you thought would not affect anything is the culprit. Oh but enable mempak again afterwards obviously

Bloobiebla: where is your current run? Any chance we'll be seeing another WIP soon? :)

Right before Bongo Bongo, I'll have one up either after shadow temple or forest temple

Quick question about Forest as a Child: doesn't it freeze when it trys to load the Deku Sprout Scene?

Yep it does. More exactly, it freezes in the beginning of the scene when the sprout is already visible, iirc.

I might try after I finish encoding the child segment for this run, but mupen is giving me alot of problems right now. Ive encoded pretty much everything up till the end of jabu jabu. For some reason after jabu jabu, mupen freezes after I attempt to click stop avi. Ive been at it for two days and I may just end up ending the video there since theres not much else, but hopefully I can get the rest of the WIP encoded so that it feels more complete.

Just a heads up, the OOT Pause bug is fixed on my local copy of Mupen64Plus, it should be included the 1.4 version, or a few revisions after the release as a database thing. Rerecording should be done around version 1.5, and so should a stable Windows port. This means about 1-2 months or sooner (hopefully).

Are you really that certain it will be done in such a short space of time? I'll of course take your word for it, I'm just under the impression that both a working win32 version and rerecording is a somewhat distant goal compared to current versions..

Well once the RCS (Rom Cache System) is done, my next branch is the re-recording branch. That will be my branch, nmn handles the windows branch, so I can't really speak for him. As long as I don't get sidetracked....

Well this is horribly after-the-fact and way-too-late, but if anyone is making a list of "possible improvements" of Bloobiebla's run, then here goes: After the first superslide across hyrule field, you backflip over the fence (spending quite a bit of time in the air being propelled at backflip speed) and land below, where you sidehop your way to gerudo valley. I'm sure it would have been faster to backflip ONTO the fence and sidehop off (the time needed to fall down would now also have sidehop speed instead of backflip speed). PS. chaosv1 check your PM please

I already know of quite a few improvements i could have made in the first half of my child segment. That being one. If I am up to it I will redo the child segment after the run just to see how much i can improve it by. I think i could it get it about a minute and a half faster

You're going to submit the run, right? It would cool to have a no major skips TAS. I've actually been working on a new no-major-skips single segmented regular speed run since December. Still working on it. Another question about the TAS, are you going to complete the trials?

If it's no major skips then he is required to complete the trials I think. Also, what is up with the current rape run of OoT? Is there any progress or what lol.

Submitting the run depends on whether the category is acceptable in the end, but it'd be awesome. Glad to hear you have been making a no major skips SS, just by playing on the NTSC rather than the PAL on the current one could make it at least 45 mins faster. Also the trials won't be skipped

I'd strongly urge you to submit whatever you end up with. The TAS quality thus far has been outstanding. I personally don't agree at all with the "all temples/no skips" category, but I will definitely be casting a "yes" vote for this TAS. There are too few OoT tases on the site, and obviously focusing on entertainment value, which seems to be a recently stressed aspect of tases, makes it a huge win imo. Keep it up!

Please submit this when it is done. So far the quality has been excellent. I personally will vote yes if this level of quality is maintained and it provides sufficient new material vs the other published run. cappin compost: please check my PM regarding your profile picture. :)

Well I assure you that the quality is just getting better and lots of new material exists. Publishing it would be great but that matters entirely on what the judges think of the category

Bloobiebla's Child Route AVI Uploaded onto mediafire 45min, 95 MB This movie is 320x240 with some lost quality, but in my opinion still quite watchable. I made this lower quality encode because I wanted to use mediafire which uploads/downloads quite fast and efficiently to make it easier on people with slower connections. However I will also be uploading the much better quality 640x480 video that I compressed into this video onto megaupload. Its just taking longer because their up loader is so slow and annoying. EDIT: Just in case anyone has problems with playing the x264 encoded video, this is a great codec that will allow your windows media player to play almost any type of video.

The video quality is good considering the bitrate. The sound itself is fine, but it drifts/desyncs/whatever (windows/mupen problem :( ). By 27m54s into the video, sound is off by two sidehops' worth. It then gets progressively better and is only like a quarter-of-a-second off by the time the Master Sword is taken. Overall though, nice encode. :)

Side hopping is realy annoying to listen to. Hearing Links voice repeating itself for 45 min makes you turn down the volume.

In that case you'll greeted by backwalking during the adult segment.

Bloobiebla's Child Route Avi Here is the MegaUpload Link for those of you who want a much more high quality video than the mediafire one. 45min, 370mb @bkdj The sound doesnt desync very noticeably in this video for some reason, I think that it could be that the lower the filesize the worse that problem gets. I still dont know any way to remedy the situation unfortunately other than to not compress the file after the intial recording, in which case the avi would be huge
