Wait, I'm confused. Is the gate to Death Mountain is open after you defeat King Dodongo, or are you just going to bomb-hover over it? I don't think you could do the owl + Hyrule Field in 36 seconds...
You can walk right through it.

the duplicate frames take up little to no space. a few bytes maybe, and when encoded using mencoder, 0 bytes. normally it shouldn't be hard decimated or else the 60fps fade effects and 30fps pause screen would look bad
I did some testing yesterday and it did make a big difference, in size, removing those extra frames (a 2:00 minute segment (60 frames a second) that was 1.5GB, roughly, to a 2:00 minute segment (20 frames a second) that was 0.5GB, roughly, same lossless codec). But I do understand what you are talking about the 60 frames and 30 frames segments that would look like crap if the 3rd frame on were the only ones processed, I'm just saying what about encoding the WIPs like this, it would make them much smaller for downloading. But another thing that comes up in my mind is what exactly does MEncoder do that keeps those duplicate frames from making a video file bigger. Regarding the run, I'm interested in knowing if it will be redone at a certain point because of the desyncs?

I don't see if it could be useful in the deku tree, seeing as it makes you fall to the outside and makes you start from the beginning

It works in other places aside from the Deku Tree.

Maybe if you could jump slash or somehow fall into the rooms below. Where are all the places that daylight time is counting down against you in this run, could you do any them any faster, or not have the time count against you? If you can't make it before night cycles what's the plan, and how much extra time will it take compared to if you could make it just in time? Is anything getting redone, like the deku tree (skellita and web skip), and dondegos cavern.

Well, the web skip is for when you cross over after making that big deku skip, and you run up to the web... sometime s it stops you, then you can deactivate the swordglitch and fall through the web and grab the ledge. Then you can just drop off down below. I means you save 3 seconds or so because you don't have to do the walltorch trick. Also, you can use Aka's trick for wallclipping to get through walls easily. Groundjump over a bomb then shield drop a bombchu. Or just let go and fall then shield drop a bombchu right before you grab on again. Both are very simple. Or you can drop 2 bombs then store aq groundjump off the 1st and then jump over the 2nd and have it damage you so you can clip through the wall. All 3 are pretty easy. You can do it to all climbable textures aside from ladders. And you can't do it as an adult (using any of these methods). So far it has no practical use... but I have 1 idea im gonna test out tommorrow... maybe MM has more uses... or does it even work in MM?

Would it be possible to skip the first web with that same trick (assuming it works as we still haven't seen any proof besides words which could very well be lies), or would there be no way to activate the sword glitch and still be faster than just climbing the vine to the third level?

There are texts to climb walls vines that are skippable, but could one of them be used to activate the sword glitch?

You could just activate it off a bush or a deku baba. Edit: Here is a video of the web skip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=heituWTjKSI by Xenos.

Wow, that is faster, if you can get a sword glitch to skip the first is it possible to not even need to set the glitch up again to get to the gold skulltula?

Wow, so close. Ive tried multiple ways to do each part of this segment. This is a good attempt to make it before sunset but not the best I'm assuming. If someone can point out where I need to do what, that would be awesome. Remember, time only passes in DMT, HF, & HC (moat area). http://rapidshare.de/files/34430262/CRAP.avi.html

Hmm, why don't you skip the Kakariko Owl with ground jump? I think that may save the time you need.

Time does not pass during texts. Sorry, should have mentioned that. Also, I have tried to skip the owl, but no luck so far.

I know it doesn't pass during texts. It does however pass while the owl is flying away and you can't move... It's easy to skip the owl. Just activate a ground jump off a bomb and then you can run right past him.

Is it too late to incorporate beating forest temple as a kid into the run? Pros:Skip most of dungeon and one Sheik cutscene. Cons: Have to learn Saria's Song and rewrite route. It shouldn't affect the time of day if you do it right after a savewarp, and has the potential to shave off 1/2 or more off the adult part of the video. Just steal the fishing rod and beat Ganon.

if superslide/jump to get to ganon's tower early works mean that none of the temples need to be beaten, except forest halfway to get bows? and what is advantage of beating forest as a child?

You still need light arrows to beat ganondorf, which involves either beating shadow and spirit or beating the forest temple so that you can go back in time and use bottle adventure to get light arrows on B.

You can use that vine trick to get into the boss room in forest. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uvjmgP13C84 you should probably use this and do forest temple as a kid... I recomend bombs instead of bombchus to enter just because you will take a few minutes to get them versus taking about 1 min to enter as a kid w/ standard bombs... the time tradeoff is about equal, but then again, you also have less travel time, so I think sticking w/ bombs is the way to go... what are you talking about? you don't need to learn sarias song. There are triggers for saria's song and you don't need to learn it to go to forest and beat forest. The route doesn't need to be rewritten, you just do forest before dodongo's (if you use chus.. . but you'll have to restock), or use bombs and do it after dodongo's and before jabu... or even after jabu.

Unfortunatley the game will freeze if you complete FT as a child, its amazing how many people don't get that.

I'm defintley convinced its possible from watching that. Are you gonna redo DC or continue? I think the owl in HF might have an impact because time passes when he flies away, a ground jump would avoid him, but can't you superslide past him. I'm not fully convinced that was the optimal superslide from DM to KV.

To trigger the Sheik is Zelda cut scene where you are given the arrows.

AKA: I was pointing out the only known methods to get light arrows, whether or not they would be used in the next version of the TAS.
