Time does not pass during texts. Sorry, should have mentioned that. Also, I have tried to skip the owl, but no luck so far.
if you can't skip the owl, what happens when you throw the bomb for the next super slide before talking to the owl? will it go off during the cutscene?

thnx, because as I'm obviously not too busy with my own TAS than I can bother checking through every single page in this 100 page thread, I occasionally come here to see the progress and discuss methods not to debate about whether I'm going to look through all the pages or not

The "Bottle Adventure" trick/glitch has been discussed at length a few months ago, probably before comicalflop started following this thread. Because this thread is enormous, it is hard to look for information on a certain subject. In an attempt to alleviate potential tension between this board's veterans and newbies, I have provided shortcuts to anyone who doesn't understand bottle adventure and/or how this run (ab)uses it. I know there is probably a lot more, but I just tried to get the key points. mwl's second post on page 96 - This is Acryte's explanation on how to do the bottle glitch in 24 easy steps, as generously provided by mwl. http://www.jaytheham.com/zc/oot.php?page=ootba - This is a page dedicated to bottle adventure, telling how to do it, its uses, etc. AKA's first post on page 96 - This is AKA's hypothesis on the optimal route for this run, using the bottle adventure glitch. I hoped I have helped some people with this post and hope to help in the future. P.S. Good luck with this awesome run Guanobowl and company! EDIT: Didn't see mwl's post before submitting this. Sorry mwl, I didn't mean to contradict you, I just wanted to help out anyone confused about this glitch.

No offense, but by responding to users who are too lazy to dig up the answers themselves, you're giving them an invitation to do this again in the future. Which is why this topic, unlike the SDA counterpart, always gets cluttered with newb questions. If you just disregard them, they'll be forced to do the reading themselves or never find out the answers.

No offense, but I've read this thread in its entirety and I still don't remember everything that was said or where to find all the information. This thing is 100 pages long and like a year old. Newbies, if you've gotta ask, ask away, most people aren't mwl and will help you out if they know the answer.

Perhaps the solution is for the less knowledgable folk to pm people who would know the answers to their questions. It certainly would cut down on the clutter in the thread. And I volunteer to help in this way, I just can't guarantee that I know enough to answer everything and to be accurate..

Hey guys, pardon my internet elitism, but just because someone doesn't know something and asks to be informed doesn't mean that we should take 10 seconds to explain something to them.

I'd explain to you why you're wrong, but, quite frankly, I don't have the time!

12 posts later... getting back to the run... GuanoBowl I saw your WIP where you try to reach the secret gate by a certain time- I was not able to see it very well because the visual quality was very good but synching of the movie was terrible- the AVI was never playing at the right bitrate and so quite frankly I couldn't see what was going on.

It's human nature to not ask questions because one would often feel dumb. But the reality is that there are probably many more people with the same question, who now know the answer thanks to comicalflop asking, and Kroxien answering. But the "veterans and newbies" comment made me chuckle since many of the OoT contributers were never on this board before this run was started. And the SDA Zelda topic isn't cluttered??

What version of Mupen64 are you guys using? I have 0.5.1 which doesn't take .m64 files. Perhaps you can provide a link to the version you are using?

So, does anyone know if you can superslide from a set of stairs? Cause you cant superslide down them? Also, explain how to skip the Kakariko Owl with ground jump please. Thanks EDIT: However, Ive done a trick before where the bomb explodes, and when I am suppose to superslide, I do a huge backflip instead. Any thoughts? EDIT: Here you go, I call it the super backflip (dont know if someone has found this yet) http://rapidshare.de/files/34569365/superbackflip.avi.html

Cool. You found a way to do a Mid-Air Superslide without Nayru's love. I think all you do to skip the owl text, is get a ground jump ready then run right past him. Atleast, that's how you skip the owl in the Lost Woods.

hmm, isn't that just a regular super slide, then a regular backflip? the backflip isn't higher than usual, it's just longer because you keep the horizontal velocity from the super slide. And it looks huge because you land further below. where's the difference to the backflips we've seen after the super slide + hover boots-attempts at shadow temple and rainbow bridge skip? is there something special needed to do it from the ground, without hover boots?

So should I do Forest as a child? Or does it still stand that it freezes? Ive seen the video posted to accomplish the Forest Temple as a child. Now...I the route should go: See Princess Zelda and have 1 heart left after moat jump Lon Lon Ranch to get bottle Zora's River Zora's Domain Jabu *Should have 1/2 heart left after everything which makes for an easy die/savewarp BTW, can anyone view the run fully? From frame 0 to the end of dodongo?

Haha, wow I quoted the wrong quote. I meant the freezing thing w/ forest. I meant to say I knew that but accidently overlooked it.
