OH HELL NO~! Maybe Probably I don't want to do it alone. I don't want to provide the input of going all over the game, I would do the map if someone else does that. Correction: 420 smoke speed everyday

I agree with Masterjun. This game is a hidden gem of non-tased NES games. It is like... umm... Mega Man Minus One...?

The contest has now been underway for 10 days (out of 68 days total). Teams who would want to work at a consistent pace for the contest should be done with the first mission now. That said, I'd like to know of each team whether or not they are done with the first mission yet. If not, I'd like to know how far they are at least. (Teams can talk to me on IRC or send a PM about their progress) List of teams (strike-through teams I have received word from): Team 1 - "AAA" Team 2 - "GAS" Team 3 - "MMM" Team 4 - "The Sophisticated League of Nordic Gentlemen" Team 5 (Exonym, Zeupar, TASeditor) Team 6 (fsvgm777, lapogne36, jaysmad) Team 7 - "TNT" Team 8 - "Solar's Random Spike" Team 9 - "Judge, Jury and Executioner" Team 10 (ars4326, dekutony, Samsara) Team 11 (Bobo the King, Personman, Eszik) EDIT: Every team has contacted me now; it's good to see that I got timely responses from every team, and that the teams are overall making good progress so far. The competition is shaping up nicely so far.

What makes you think the first mission needs to be completed to finish the game?

How about the fact that even if it wasn't, there still is a competition to clear all missions, which means you would have to complete the first mission anyway to compete in that?

Thank you for the answer. Here's the next question: Our team members have produced multiple awesome submissions that are not Metal Force. How many extra points do we get?

For the scope of the contest, it depends on the quality of the submissions. If they're not good enough, then you get 0 points. If they are of good quality, then depending on quality your extra points may vary anywhere between "nope" and "zero". I hope this is a satisfactory answer.

I've been getting some messages from a few teams that one of their members is inactive, not doing much, disinterested or otherwise unproductive. I guess it's time to address this now in public. While I would hope that each team can stick together to finish their project, it clearly is not always possible or realistic. And to keep the competition fair for teams that are disadvantaged this way, I've set up a policy for replacing team members. I've already communicated this to the teams that were involved so far, but to make it official now, it is as follows:
  • Team members who are concerned about the (lack of) productivity of a teammate can send me a message (forum PM or IRC private message) about the problems they have with the team member in question.
  • I will try to communicate with the problematic team member in question and see how they feel about their activity or the team situation. Depending on how this goes, I may approve of making an official team change.
  • While I do the above, the remaining team members can find a replacement teammate. If they have found a replacement, both remaining original team members as well as the replacement need to message me to confirm the team swap. Then, depending on whether or not I approve in step 2, I will make the team change official.
That said, I'm hoping I won't need to execute this policy any more than I already need(ed) to.

On the topic of team replacements, the first team swap has been confirmed. Team 2 "GAS" (Got4n, adelikat, Scepheo) has had Got4n drop out of the team; he has now been replaced by Cardboard.

Which means that team AAA’s total score is not the highest of all teams anymore, right? 1111 posts, wow =D

Yes, although I won't change around team numbers anymore. Team 2 does indeed now have the highest total point count. On another note, NitroGenesis is dropping from Team 7 "TNT" (TehSeven, thelegendarymudkip, NitroGenesis). TehSeven and thelegendarymudkip are still looking for a replacement; send me a message if you are interested. They have a replacement now.

So it's safe to say "GAS" no longer applies, and should instead be replaced by "SAC"
Current thoughts: Hachiemon (J) for GBA.
