You mean mr_roberts_z. mrz is another guy. Yeah, their names can be confused quite easily.
Im the different Mrz. It doesn't matter anyway because I don't play N64.

o hi thar! If all goes to plan, I'm gonna get going on the run on Friday, starting with JRB. But I still should know: should I do like FODA and make it slightly more entertaining?

I believe he means sacrificing frames here and there to make the run unique. I don't see a problem with that, if it's mostly unnonticeable.

Do JRB first, then use the Lobby Glitch to get into BitDW,WF and CCM, then normally go into PSS, TotWC, and BoB.

My thoughts: Lobby glitch -- If it means you have to get a coin, don't do it. This run is coinless. I can imagine the movie description, "Gets no coins except one because he does a cool glitch." mrz vs. mr_roberts_z -- How about mrz vs. mr_rz? Or you could just use their respective full names. Rainbow stars -- Lets not worry about it until we get there. Test run -- I think this was more of a "Are these stars really possible? What about other ones?" run, and also get a vague idea of how long the stars will take. Keyword:Test.
That's what she said!

Cool... I'll try to find a few nice, quick, entertaining tricks to try and make up for the Lobby Glitch.

You can just call me Robert... Or mr_roberts_z.

Yes! You got it, that's exactly what I was thinking when I made the test run... One more thing... I think I found an insanely hard, but fast method for Pyramid Puzzle... Jump+kick off the top platform, and hit the sides of all the coin platforms; you can still move in mid-air, but since you kicked, you can't grab onto a ledge. You should still be close enough to the coins that you activate their triggers.

found would imply you pulled it off, but reading the rest it seems you should have used 'thought of'. nice idea there though.

what would be hard to match is FODA's playing style and all of the many entertaining techniques that he did to keep audiences entertained. He specifically mentioned in the submission that he wasted frames to do things in a more impressive or entertaining way.
Yes, FODA's work is uotstandinly entertaining. I have watched his Mario 64 run many many many times and they still keep me entertained. So, I would like to give my greatest thanks to him for being in and providing for this community. Thank You! And next: Rikku. Your work is also very good. You managed to improve AKA's run and make it more more entertaining at the same time. That is really something, especially for a Newbie. I wish you good luck on the 120 star run!

We know FODA's run is improvable. I don't know SM64 well enough to tell you where, I just remember it being said.
At least the swimming style was somewhat flawed in JRB (and in the secret star). I'm not exactly sure which was the best way, but still.. :). I haven't yet watched Rikku's WIP but I believe that is one of the major improvement-factors.
Which run should I encode next? :)

I don't think it works because the plataform is too big and the coin is far from the ledge.

That would look super cool if you could do it. I can't test it though, I don't really know how to use Mupen, and I don't have a controller to USB adaptor.

9 seconds sounds pretty good to me. I always thought that this was the weakest part of the run and definitely improveable. I'll watch whenever I get the chance, but I expect to see better swimming (as Maza stated), better Red coin pick-up and better eel baiting.

well, I've recently seen it, and: slightly better swimming, nothing major better red coin pickup, most were the same but a few were good strategic changes the eel baiting for the first star was actually significantly better, there was a minor glitch where Mario was looking away long enough to prevent the eel from moving left and right before coming out, and he actually came out faster than intended. when Mario looked back after a veyr shot period of time the eel was completely out.

I didn't notice it coming out faster. i think it's just that he took longer to get in position to wait. but there's a mistake there.

Thanks but it is not complete correct. I watched AKAs FODAs Spezzafers mr_roberts_z runs and all the other who made Mario videos and put many parts of there runs in my, so it is not my ideas. Yes, I hate the worlds where you can swim and what for a minor glitch ? Should I redo JRB ?

I haven't seen your JRB run yet, but I'll check it out ASAP. If you haven't already, check out my world record video for the JRB red coins: http://youtube.com/watch?v=govtQIGQtDk That's 1:11, with pretty crappy swimming. I'm sure that a perfectly optimized TAS of the same route can get around 1:05. Oh, and good luck with the run...it'll be nice to have another run in progress whilst I do mine. We can trade times and junk. :)

Well, I accidentally did it with at least one coin. Even if I can't get all of them in one drop, I should be able to do the first one with the method I discribed, then land on the edge of the next platform down.

that very start looks faster for sure, I've always wondered why nobody did a jump to speed it up before, I always used a longjump, but that is probably even better. the 2nd and 3rd red coin look quite improvable?

Would it be worth it on the eel star to do the "Blast to the Stone Pillar" route and then long jump from that platform to save some slow swimming? My gut feeling says yes, but I'm not good enough with the pillar glitch to try.

FODA's run is certainly improvable, frame-wise, but it will be hard to beat the "wow" factor of his run. FODA is a master of the camera angle. I've watched your JRB WIP, Rikku, and you're off to a great start.
