It didn't waste time either. So it's not a matter of time.

I've allready said it, but I consider the intro-screen as intro for your star performance. So I agree with mwl. Rikku great job so far!

Just wondering if you were still working on this mr_roberts_z. I liked your progress, and the idea is still one of my favorites:)

Indeed. It would be a shame if this one never got finished.

Looked good, but wouldn't it have been faster to do the Manta Ray's Reward before Board Bowser's Sub, and hence before BitFS? That way you wouldn't have had to long jump as far a distance to get back to DDD. Very nice, though.

I agree with Swordless Link. Unless I'm missing something there shouldn't be any benefit in Manty Ray's Reward after BitFS. Other than that it all looked good. I watched BBH and BitDW too as I've not had a chance to watch them yet. You seem to be making WIPs faster than we can watch them :D

Yes but I think this star must be select in the menu to activate the manta or Iam blind and cant see him. After I have done Board Bowser's Sub the star is select and the manta appears.

Ah, okay...That makes sense. It's weird how that happens though.

nah not that weird. you remember, you had to activate other stars too (climb this tower in whomps fortress or the one where the snowman lost his head)

I know that, I just thought it was weird that the Manta didn't appear unless his star was selected. For stuff like WF it's more understandable since the level itself changes. For the Manta, it's just adding another "enemy". =/

yes but to activate this star I must do the Board Bowser's Sub star and then I must twice long jump every other star after this, because the blue water wall or what this is move behind. That is my opinion.

Yep, nice wip Rikku. I especially liked your "flair" when fighting bowser 2. That enormous jump you took when the platform tilted was hilarious and awesome. You're making pretty fast progress, keep up the good work.

Didn't like the camera spaz at the bowser fight (and in general, I like the camera being panned out farther, rather than close up more akin to FODA's run) but good stuff regardless.

Yeah, I kind of took a...really long break. But I'll get back to it soon, maybe in a few days.

Exactly. I always find it odd when people are complaining about camera angles, they don't really matter to me as long as I can at least see mario. But each to his own I guess.

I just know people are gonna complain about the run not having a giant zoom lens personally it doesn't matter, since most people should know the game well enough so that they don't get confused by unusual camera angles, the only thing I would consider remotely bad is overly changing/spastic camera angles which currently isn't the case.

Preface: I haven't watched this particular progress. I disagree that knowing the game can make up for confusing camera angles. I think the camerawork is very important to do well, especially in a game such as this one where the camera was not programmed perfectly (which isn't a surprise since this was one of the first games of its kind). I think TAS-like camera movements are a generally bad idea. A very close camera where Mario takes up 70% of the screen while he is running is just a slap in the face to the audience. A fast moving camera is the 3D version of wobbling, except instead of just a sprite being affected, it's the entire screen. Bleck.

Camera angles -can- matter, but every bit of this run has had good camera work so far. Rikku, keep doing what you are doing, dont change a thing.

I think you are heavily contradicting yourself by saying this. If this is true, then you would not have submitted your recent Alex Kidd run and other runs.

I agree, many of the camera angles differ from the ones normally used while playing which makes it more intresting to watch.
