What settings I have to set, lest BLJ-glitches works in this game (in Project64 or Mupen64)?

Erm... you don't need any special settings, the default ones work quite well. I wouldn't use Project because you'll need frame precision and probably rerecording to pull off any interesting BLJs, which is how that video (and all others here) was made. There exist tutorials on constructing basic BLJs in mupen if you search on youtube. Other than that, the only think you need is the rom, mupen64 rerecording version out of the box, and the TAS input plugin greatly simplifies things.

kinda nooby question (and a bit off topic too, maybe I should make a new topic for this), but how exactly do you use the tas input plugin?

Check boxes and change the analog direction to your likings, and press frame advance. Loadstate until you find the right input.

Anyone interested in making a 120 star TAS in three weeks? Go to the SpeedTASing thread in the general forums to find out more. The run can be as sub-optimal as you want, just try to get as many stars as possible in three weeks. I will be participating in this tournament. yes its crazy, but I reckon some of you may participate. Non-Tasers are encouraged to participate

Sounds like more of a free time amount contest.

In all honesty though, if this is what it takes to get a 120 star run rolling, I'm all for it! :) (just won't be participating)

If this is what it takes to get a 120 star run rolling, this site is fucked.

So has anyone timed from [DDD's "Exit To Lobby"] to [the entrance of the 70-star door], using the traditional way and an optimized version of the way used in that video? I see SS commented that it doesn't save time but I don't know if there was testing or hard numbers involved so I ask anyway. :) ...And while I'm at hypothetical improvements using Black Rooms of Death I also wonder about this BLJ coupled with a BLJ from the BRoD inside the lobby leading to a faster time from [player takes control] to [BitDW entrance]?

No its not faster because you're on the other side of the room opposite of the stairs. Also you can't blj there because in the start the moat isn't drained.

probably not, because you need to have drained the water for that blj to work, ad there are no blj locations behind the BRoD in the lobby, you can however, blj out of the BRod behind the key door.

Yes but you skip the door-opening animation...

Still the time to set up the blj would be like 2 opening door animations, and getting into the BRoD would be like 1 so i'm fairly certain it's slower.

Did a little comparison with a section from mr_roberts_z's 100% WIP that he hasn't touched in about a year. Also he will be posting the entirety of his work so far to youtube pretty soon, so there's that to look forward to! :)

Nice comparison video bkDJ. I don't think Kyman goes for optimisation. He just makes entertaining videos I guess... :P
