Well, the wing cap requires.. 16(?) 9 stars, so even if a method was found, it wouldn't be beneficial. It would be interesting though. :p

what happens if you hit the wall underwater with that speed? would you go into swimming animation after the “hit” animation, kind of like how it happens at the end of Aru’s vid?

He edited his position with MHS to be out of the water for one frame, and be in front of the door the next frame.

Has it been proven to be possible to win the game with defeating Bowser only twice (or once for that matter)? I mean does the game check up somehow on how many times you actually have defeated him to reach the final stage? Also can you exit the basement from the inside?

The game almost certainly does no such check, for two reasons:
  1. The creators have no reason to expect that anyone can beat the third Bowser without beating the previous two (and likewise w.r.t. the second and first); they've been right so far! The check would just be useless code.
  2. If they checked and found it failed, what should they do? They could make a scene calling you a cheater and deleting/reverting your save file, but that's both expensive in resources (and those are not to be squandered away) and not very kind. (And don't forget safety; consider the check is wrong and punishes a perfectly valid game!) So they won't do that, and pretty much would have to do nothing anyway. Might as well omit the check altogether, especially considering, from the previous reason, that it's probably not going to happen anyway.

With the key door to the lobby? With the moat door? What would either of those matter? If breaking into the basement to get the key from BitFS works, then as usual we would just pause -> exit course in DDD.

Ah, true that to both of you. Of course you'd do that then.

This may have been asked before, but it's not possible or has already been attempt and failed to try to glitch and fall through the castle wall to the door instead of trying to go through the water? Either that or BLJ through the castle walls right to the door

The water volume extends to the other side of the door. Link to video (I knew what video I was searching for but this is the first hit when googling "youtube moat door water")

Isn't that kind of like saying "Does the game check for 70 Stars before letting you past the endless staircase?"? People have managed to get past that, so I don't see why they couldn't skip the first Bowser fight in the same way.

No, it's more of a question of how the game decides when it's over. I could conceive of the game ending when you've obtained 3 keys (in which case you'd have to defeat all three Bowsers). But personally I suspect it's far more likely that the game-end logic is "attached" to the arena you fight Bowser in, which in turn must be attached to the level you reach the arena from, which is attached to a specific point in the castle. So I'd be very surprised if, on reaching the final Bowser level without having the first two keys, you'd be unable to win the game.

Principally yes, I did. But I don't know otherwise what can and can't be skipped, so I just wanted to check to be sure.

According to the records page, this 9"00 TAS by snark should be it, but I can't view the video right now for some reason (despite being logged in).
