• Manipulates luck
Here is another game I've done real-time speedruns of that I finally got around to TASing.
Here is how the game works: you start off in a random location with a random set of 3 tasks to do before you can find Patti. I'm almost certain that this is the fastest route despite the relatively long autoscroller in the middle. You almost always get some kind of autoscroller and most of the routes waste a lot of time running between multiple locations.
In an RTA, it is possible to get this set of tasks AND spawn immediately in the mall. However it took me so many frames of waiting at the title screen to manipulate this scenario that it was faster to pick an earlier frame placed in a different spot and travel to the mall instead.
The two "boss fights" (Klotzilla and Robo-Bone) are simple, just hit the targets at the first possible frame. I tried my best to optimize movement.

Holy Crap. What's with all the holding in long lag frames? Is this 2010? Entertainment: None, Meh Vote.

Voting Meh because it reminded me that Helter Skeeter exists.

Special props to the game developers for perfectly recreating the sound of someone holding a microphone to their Apple II speaker.

Meh vote on entertainment (perhaps there would have been more entertainment value in shooting the aliens during the auto-scroller?), but it looked about as optimized as you can get. On a side note, imagine how a game like this would've been if a quality developer like Working Designs or Camelot, etc. was in charge. The Doug universe (spanning from both the Nickelodeon and Disney series) was very well constructed, with a good number of memorable characters and locations. I just think a whole lot more could've been done on games like these.

Jigwally: How much faster is this than your real-time records? I imagine not very much.

Uh....this is an "action" game alright, but I swear they were making an entirely different game before they realized it's far too short and has barely any game whatsoever so they taped some action elements from some other project.
