What's this I see? ArandomgameTASer having an actual work ethic?
Yes.
Twinbee - Rainbow Bell Adventure is a platformer game, akin to the SNES Sparkster in terms of propulsion mechanics. What's odd about it is the fact that it spawned from a shmup franchise, known as Pop'N Twinbee in the US and Europe.
This run plays on the Japanese version, as for some reason the European versions turns it into a linear game. This one, however, is a bit more similar to the way Super Mario World did it, as there are multiple paths and exits in each level.
This run is about a minute and 4 seconds faster then the Nicovideo TAS found over here: http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm7208573 Also for comparisons sakes here's the current RTA WR https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fC2TIvZ7aK8

IL Timings

This game has a timer in stages, so a comparison is made with that. (It's actually a fairly accurate time, if the game didn't lag. But w/e)

General Notes

-Similar to Sparkster, you will bounce all around if you touch a wall while boosting. Quite irritating to deal with a lot of the time.
-Pressing Left + Right will make you go to the right extremely quickly. This is used whenever the jets are recharging.
-You can't jump with a fully charged jet, unless you use it or lose it.
-Jet direction is determined the first frame you let go of the B button, and what direction you're holding during that frame.
-Winbee's punch attack is activated by attacking and then turning the opposite direction from where you're facing.

Thanks

-Exonym. Seriously that guy knows so many games, plus he's pretty chill to talk with.

Noxxa: Judging.
Noxxa: Nice run of a nicely paced game. Accepting for Moons.
AntyMew: Processing...

The only quibble (thanks thesaurus) I have with the game is that the downtime between levels is actually longer than most stages take to complete. But that's also a credit to the mechanics being so TAS-friendly and the amount of optimization you put into it. The result is pretty entertaining, so yes vote!

Huh, hadn't heard of this, but looks pretty different. Fast paced fun, gotta vote yes :) I have heard of Pop'n Twinbee, would be nice to see a TAS of that in future.

Recently there was a TAS that reminded me of this game and a few days later this TAS gets submitted, hehe. I remember playing this game long time ago trying to get all the keys, fairies and bells. Can't remember whether or not I was able to get them all, but sure it was fun searching for them. Any though on trying to go for a 100% run? Anyway, I liked the run. Thanks arandomgameTASer :)

Maybe sometime later. It would have to be 2-player, since that's fast.

A note on that 21:19 TAS: It wastes time in level to avoid getting a fanfare when you beat the level time, pretty much the same as in Sonic the Hedgehog runs, though those TASes also ignore wasting time for that purpose, and aims for the in game timer instead.

Yeah. All that waiting is faster, sure, but it brings the rest of TAS down by a lot.

This is what it would look like if Fantasy Zone were made into a platformer. It still doesn't look like there's any meaningful plot, but there's a lot of fast flying. Good job!
Used to be a frequent submissions commenter. My new computer has had some issues running emulators, so I've been here more sporadically. Still haven't gotten around to actually TASing yet... I was going to improve Kid Dracula for GB. It seems I was beaten to it, though, with a recent awesome run by Hetfield90 and StarvinStruthers. (http://tasvideos.org/2928M.html.) Thanks to goofydylan8 for running Gargoyle's Quest 2 because I mentioned the game! (http://tasvideos.org/2001M.html) Thanks to feos and MESHUGGAH for taking up runs of Duck Tales 2 because of my old signature! Thanks also to Samsara for finishing a Treasure Master run. From the submission comments:
