I noticed that TASvideos supports both FCEUX and Bizhawk. Is there any advantage for using one or the other for specific games? I noted a similar thread on the snes side, and am curious with the nes side of things.

BizHawk uses quicknes and it's "in house" NesHawk core. Both of which are more accurate than FCEUX. I would prefer people TAS with the most accurate emulators available. However, some people care less about accuracy, and they prefer FCEUX because they are used to it. If you like using taseditor, FCEUX's version is still more mature than BizHawk's. Though that is changing.

I'm pretty sure most (if not all) of the people still using FCEUX, myself included, are only using it because of the far more functional TAS Editor. It may be the only advantage over BizHawk currently, but to a lot of people it's a huge one. If you want to start an NES run now or very soon, I'd actually suggest starting in FCEUX and seeing if you like TAS Editor. If you do, then you can get used to it there and easily make the switch over to BizHawk in the future once TAStudio gets out of beta. If you're not too fond of TAS Editor, then BizHawk is the way to go from the beginning. In short: You'll always end up on BizHawk in the end. It's more accurate, it's still being worked on daily, and it'll eventually have the same functionality as FCEUX, except more fleshed out and not specific to one console.

I just want to play games without TASing, and this page shows that puNES is overall most accurate. But is that page trustworthy? I feel I should stick with Bizhawk, because of this thread.

The differences in accuracy between FCEUX, Bizhawk, Nestopia etc. don't really matter for casual play, save for maybe some edge cases in uncommon games. For casual play, you should use the emulator that works the best for you and has the best features/interface for you.

Indeed; puNES is almost 10% more accurate than a real NES!

Or rather than that flash cart implementation. Anyway, emulator accuracy is something like full NES palette: no game uses separate emphasis bits, let alone changing them within one line, but NES can do it, and some emulators try to, even though you'll never see that outside some test ROMs. Zero benefit for actual gamers.
Warning: When making decisions, I try to collect as much data as possible before actually deciding. I try to abstract away and see the principles behind real world events and people's opinions. I try to generalize them and turn into something clear and reusable. I hate depending on unpredictable and having to make lottery guesses. Any problem can be solved by systems thinking and acting.

Accuracy matters. Use BizHawk. Btw, puNES is closed source, and has no rerecording. It isn't even an option.
