Def Jam Vendetta is a 2003 professional wrestling video game that combined hip hop with pro wrestling. It was released for the PlayStation 2 and GameCube.
The Story: It's been three years since D-Mob chased you out of the New York fight circuit and you swore you'd never go back. Now your pal Manny is in trouble and he needs you to bail him out. The plan is simple: get in, win a few fights, pay off his debt, get out. No problem. Well, it turns out that things aren't as easy as they appear. Once in the scene, your past comes back to haunt you. Soon you're over your head and your only chance to get your life back together is to settle a score that has gone too long unpaid.
Briggs is one of the four heroes that can be selected in Story mode. Dishonorably discharged from the U.S. Marines for striking a superior officer, Briggs lost himself in the New York fight scene as a way of forgetting his past. Your basic street fighter, Briggs uses a mixture of martial arts and brawling. He excels at power slams and submission moves.

  • Manipulates RNG
Tricks
I manipulate the RNG in some stages to get a 'hard' grapple on the opponent early on in the match.
As the rounds progress and the CPU fighting style changes, some opponents do not allow you to attack on the first frame, so you have to for a few frames before they can be attacked.(This can be anywhere between 1 and 15 frames.)
I manipulate opponents so they are not able to counter my attacks.
I activate 'BLAZING' !!' while their health bar is near or it has just entered the 'DANGER' zone, this is to stop/reduce the chance of opponents reversing my grapples.
Rounds: Peewee to D-Mob:
tl:dr Manipulate RNG so my 'Hero' doesn't receive any damage and he is able to win every single round.
Tag Team Fights
The reason why 1 character used in Tag Team instead of 2 is because there is a set timer on how long 2 players can stay in the ring for and it switches the characters around so you'll be facing the opponent who has a full health bar, rather than the one in the ring. This affects the score at the of the round as your teammate may receive damage.

This was a tough decision to make. As an entertainment-based run, it does not qualify for Vault, as Vault only allows fastest any%/100% completion times. So it needs to be deemed entertaining enough to make it to Moons, and to be frank, the game itself isn't that entertaining. I spent yesterday asking for opinions (shoutouts to IRC for not getting sick of it) and the majority consensus was that it's just too repetitive of a game. The recent thread/voter feedback (5 yes, 3 meh, 3 no, 59%) is reflecting this as well.
DwainiumB, you did a fantastic job on the run itself! I took some time to understand the game better and found it impressive how much you were able to manipulate without losing too much time. The move variety was nice as well. It is a fast run, there's no doubt about that... but with the goal choice being entertainment, that means it could still be quite a bit faster. The game would have a place in the Vault for sure, should you choose to redo the run. Regardless of that, I'm looking forward to your next project!
Audience feedback was mixed-to-poor. The run is technically sound. However, rejecting due to goal choice (entertainment over speed) and game choice (not entertaining enough for Moons).

There seems to be 4 votes, an encode but no comments. If you may not know, this is a playaround movie. Not a time attack movie. So if you find it entertaining or not, feel free to let the author know now, if you were waiting for some sort of expert to say it's slow or not before to decide. As for me I liked it. It's a yes vote from me.

This was a cool run. Pretty wide variety of moves used, including some that were tough to execute but made to look easy due to the manipulation done. Yes vote!

Seemed fairly repetitive all throughout. I liked the move variety for the first 10-15 minutes or so, then my enthusiasm dwindled once I realized I still had over half the movie to go. You did a good job making the run as entertaining as you could, but the game just went on too long for me. Gonna give this one a high Meh vote, if only because the Ludacris fight reminded me of this: Link to video

I'd like a bit more audience feedback on this before I make a decision. It seems good so far, but a few more votes/comments in the thread definitely wouldn't hurt. EDIT: I'm getting consistent desyncs with this, around frame 14000. If anyone aside from the author can get it to sync on their end, that would be lovely.

Honestly is quite a bit repetitive in the entertainment side of things, it's also really long compared to other TASes like this. And also theres not too much too work with in terms of strats and glitches, compared to Mortal Kombat or Marvel vs. Capcom. Even then, it looks polished and it was solid enough to give it a yes vote.

I just tested it and got it to sync past frame 14000. My settings are no memory cards and DSP LLE recompiler with the official DSP ROMs. Just to be safe, I have it paused while I'm in my browser typing this, so I'll get back to it.

Aaaaand thank you again! If you could post a screenshot of the finished run, that would be lovely.

You're welcome! Here's a screenshot of the final input: And here are some screenshots at frame 43936 and 72135 so you can gauge your sync progress in playing back this run.

And once again, thank you kindly for sync verification. Once I get my PC repaired, Dolphin submissions should go a lot easier for me. DwainiumB, what's your goal choice for this run? Looking at the game thread, it appears to be speed, but looking at the submission it appears to be entertainment. Having it made clear would help me make a more confident decision. I'll hold off on judgement for another day or so. I'd still like some more public feedback for this. I asked around on IRC and the consensus seemed to be "too repetitive", but I'd like to see more reflection in the votes/thread posts.

I stopped watching about 8 minutes 24 seconds in. It's just way too repetitive (even though you tried to mix things up with different moves, the same moves come over and over again). I'm sorry, but I'm going to vote No on entertainment.

Oh, the goal choice for this run is entertainment but I see people have views on it, which is natural for this type of game.
