I'm not familiar with the previous TAS of this game. What I can say is that this run looked quite entertaining. The gameplay looked quite frantic without much of anything stopping you, and the skips were very nice. From what I can tell, the optimization also looked good. Yes vote!

Yeah, I noticed the same thing. For one...there is the swinging vine, on the first stage of the SNES, that you have to wait for. In the Genesis version, its immediate. Yes vote.
I recently discovered that if you haven't reached a level of frustration with TASing any game, then you haven't done your due diligence. ---- SOYZA: Are you playing a game? NYMX: I'm not playing a game, I'm TASing. SOYZA: Oh...so its not a game...Its for real? ---- Anybody got a Quantum computer I can borrow for 20 minutes? Nevermind...eien's 64 core machine will do. :) ---- BOTing will be the end of all games. --NYMX

The current SNES TAS can be done faster, because you can skip the first boss. As for the vines - the swinging vine, as well as the retractable platforms at levels 4/9, have a timer. You can get to the vine or platforms faster, but then you have to wait to jump onto.
