This TAS is not the fastest possible, which would be with the Auricom ships. But Qirex is by far the hardest to handle, hence this TAS which is the funniest to do and to watch. Firstar is not included as I wanted to play only the "original" Rapier tracks, but as long as there is no WipeOut TAS to this date there is no official category. It is definitely not an Any% but a "Qirex" and "Rapier original tracks" maybe. There is a heavy luck manipulation, although it is not very apparent in the first two tracks where the boost is not a key factor in the overall speed. The 3 laps never have the same time as luck manipulation is not always the same, hence the trajectories are different. Each lap is then almost like 3 different tracks.

Memory: Replacing with correct file

feos: Claiming for judging.
feos: Great run, good feedback, I would personally like it more if it was a 3rd person view but this is still cool.
Venom and Rapier tracks have the same maps, the latter just has higher speed, so we can call it hardest difficulty rather than a set of unique tracks, and that difficulty is unlocked using an in-game input code. So I removed it from the branch. Qirex didn't need the % but otherwise it's a good secondary branch if it's not the fastest ship.
Accepting to Moons.
PS: Trimmed blank input at the end.

despoa: Processing...

Did you submit the right file? The video is like 16 minutes but the input file is very short. If you upload to userfiles and link that userfile in the replies, we can fix that for you.
[16:36:31] <Mothrayas> I have to say this argument about robot drug usage is a lot more fun than whatever else we have been doing in the past two+ hours
[16:08:10] <BenLubar> a TAS is just the limit of a segmented speedrun as the segment length approaches zero

You are right, I attached a wrong file. I have uploaded a new one in my userfiles.

Fixed. On another note, always was curious about what wipeout tasing would be like. I never played the games but still I knew enough of them to be curious. Haven't finished watching but I enjoyed what I've watched so far.

Thanks. I was very surprised that such an iconic game does not have any TAS (easily) available. And instead of running for the fastest run, I thought that running with the most difficult ship to handle in the fastest class would actually be the most interesting to prepare and to watch, as clearly those races are far from being doable by a human with such a pace and such a luck. If people enjoy this TAS, now that I've spent so many hours to understand its detailed mechanics, I could try (and invent) other categories such as an any%, a firestar run, or any other category that you would like to see.

A racing game TAS that also wants to be a challenge run? A rare treat! I definitely enjoyed watching this one, so it's an easy "yes" vote. However, I am disappointed that this run does not include all the tracks, I really see no reason not to. Should this TAS get published, a new version that does all the tracks should be able to obsolete it.
Current project: Gex 3 any% Paused: Gex 64 any% There are no N64 emulators. Just SM64 emulators with hacky support for all the other games.

I will work on that and on an any% eventually, but this TAS was just intended to be a showcase. I would gladly obsolete my own TAS...

I have waited a long time for a Wipeout TAS. For me this is the hardest of the Wipeout games on the Playstation (I never played Wipeout 64), seeing it played at this level was awesome. I usually prefer watching Wipeout in a 3rd person view rather than 1st person, but this TAS is still a great time. Definitely entertained, a yes vote from me. If you make more TASes of Wipeout, and maybe even Wip3out, I would definitely look forward to them.

I would also love to see more Wipeout TASes and since it was mentioned, Wipeout 64 in particular. "All Challenges" is a great category that really deserves a TAS!

I'll see for more WipeOut games later. For the time being I'm working on an any% of the first one, for which I developed the tools and now that I am efficient and committed to it. WipeOut 64 is definitely the next on my list.

All the manuals I'm reading say Rapier only gets unlocked if you've completed Venom, but it's available here right away? EDIT: Ah I see it uses a code
Warning: When making decisions, I try to collect as much data as possible before actually deciding. I try to abstract away and see the principles behind real world events and people's opinions. I try to generalize them and turn into something clear and reusable. I hate depending on unpredictable and having to make lottery guesses. Any problem can be solved by systems thinking and acting.
