nymx: Claiming for judging.

nymx: I'm setting this one aside until I'm able to get more info.

nymx: Unclaiming. I believe this one is going to take a person that is more familiar with Mega Man. Too much confusion for me to deal with. I've checked against many other videos and I'm having doubts.
longbao, please do not overwrite the judging notes at the bottom of any submissions.

Darkman425: First of all, restoring the judging notes that got lost from an earlier edit.
Second of all, hi hello I'm someone who's familiar with with Mega Man and the ROM hacks of the series. I'll take a closer look at this one by claiming it for judging.
Darkman425: Aside from taking the color gimmick of The Stage Nobody Asked For from Make a Good Mega Man Level 2 for use in this hack's Wily stage 2 and, more obviously, literally putting the original Mega Man 3 Wily stage 2 into this hack's Needle Man's stage, this hack has a lot of interesting gimmicks and branching paths that isn't typically found in a lot of standard Mega Man levels or even a number of hacks. While boss and enemy behavior is still how it was in Mega Man 3, the weakness changes do make some fights trickier when exploiting weaknesses.
The movement through levels seem solid and the routing is well thought out. However, some of the boss fights were a bit slower than they could have been. Mega Man 3 only starts the end of level animation when all of the boss explosions leave the screen. I can't really count that against you since the only mention of that specific knowledge was in these old submission notes. I added that info to the boss fighting guide so it's at least now somewhere else as well. Even then there were some bosses where getting a better pattern would speed the fight up slightly, though that's a bit harder to tell since some of the changed weaknesses are a bit less than ideal. Ultimately this would probably be a few potential seconds to the total time to save at best. This looks good overall.
Accepting to Standard.

Is it this hack: https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/7839/ ? (It would help if the game title was correct.) Anyway, I didn't watch this TAS (since the author hasn't exactly posted their submissions in an accessible manner), but I saw a longplay, and this hack doesn't deserve to be named after Rosenkreuzstilette. Sure, the backgrounds in this hack are sometimes cool. But not justified in having "Kreuzstilette" in its name. (BTW the enemies and bosses are completely unchanged from MM3, and the weapons too. So it's pretty much a level modification hack of MM3 with some changed foreground/background graphics. Also the music is taken almost entirely from other NES Mega Man games.)

longbao, I've noticed over the history of your submissions that your notes are extremely lacking in details for us to properly analyze your work. This one is no exception, as we have confusion still yet to sift through. Please response with some details that answers the question that FractalFusion has, as well as any other details that can help me to finalize my judgement of this submission. Thanks.
I recently discovered that if you haven't reached a level of frustration with TASing any game, then you haven't done your due diligence. ---- SOYZA: Are you playing a game? NYMX: I'm not playing a game, I'm TASing. SOYZA: Oh...so its not a game...Its for real? ---- Anybody got a Quantum computer I can borrow for 20 minutes? Nevermind...eien's 64 core machine will do. :) ---- BOTing will be the end of all games. --NYMX

Even the maker of the hack describes it as "a vanilla hack" 😕

longbao, if you are having trouble writing up your submission details, you can write up your submission notes in your native language. We can use google translate on this end. What we need from you are details pertaining to your ROM usage and notes on where to get the IPS file being used. In addition, any notes on the run itself will be helpful in judging.

I was able to get the necessary hack ROM by appying the IPS patch on the ROM hash indicated on the romhacking.org page. The hash of the hacked ROM matched the hash contained in the fm2 file, and I was able to play back the whole movie and make a temp encode, that I added to the submission page.

I am torn on this one. The tas is well done and entertaining with tricks being used, but certain things rub me the wrong way with this hack. Music seems messed up in the encode itself so I cannot praise or condemn it. There are reviews about this hack that mention just how the music was from other Megaman titles not whatever this turned into then muted for the rest of it. Also, 21:04 shows that the jet mode can be used to clip through areas in the hack, but I only see it used once when I would expect a glitch like that to be more frequently used. The Good Snake mid boss skip 6:06 Cirno Statue 10:55 Spark Man and Top Man Levels seem designed well This unusual puzzle 10:30 The robot bosses after the initial batch are bosses from previous MegaMan games which is neat The batch of bosses were cleared quite well Some Demons' Crest images I thought were fun 29:57 The Bad Hard to tell what is foreground and background. Seems to be deliberate at times. 0:45 24:12 The Ugly The palette is horrendous. The worst I have seen in any MegaMan hack. 6:49 12:24 15:25 Meh vote.

Hello. I only just now notitced this after it appeared on the front page of tasvideos. I just wanted to say i helped out alot with this hack. And.. i was very disappointed honestly that Jriva did not ever use any of the megaman 3 documents i had for literally anything whatsoever. He could have easily edited any of the bosses/mid-bosses, weapon colors in MegaFLE level editor, and many more dozens of things but he chose not to for some reason. I seriously wish he did "something" to any boss. I have a whole collection of megaman 3 documents, and their avaiable on romhacking.net too, but yea... dont know why he just ignored all of it. :( The TAS here is cool though. So i appreciate that by longbao.
