About the Game(s):
Action 52 is an unlicensed game made for the NES and Sega Genesis, featuring - you guessed it - 52 different video games. The NES port was published in 1991, whereas the Genesis port was published in 1993. Both versions were published by Active Enterprises.
Sombreros is game 35/52 in the NES port of Action 52. You play as - fittingly - a man wearing a sombrero, who has to navigate across 4 precarious roads, shooting everything in his way.
About the TAS:
This TAS aims for fastest completion, which means beating all 4 levels. After this, there's no new content.
Walkthrough:
I'm not gonna put each level separately as the gameplay is very similar in each level.
- After the Action 52 cutscene and a select screen, we can start the game on frame 965.
- Most of the gameplay is just holding U.
- There are many times where we have to move out of the way due to obstacles. It was actually quite a hassle figuring out which options worked out to be the fastest.
- A few times we have to wait for a few frames to shoot an enemy and then keep walking.
- Input ends when we finish Level 4 on frame 15858. That makes this my longest Action 52 TAS so far.
Thanks for reading.
nymx: Claiming for judging.
nymx: hmmmm...I'm glad to see that the levels in this game can continue without an impassable area. :) On the other hand, I found it humorous that a guy, walking down the road, can just destroy on-coming cars. Must be the new and improved 52 million dollar man.
Game completed 4 rounds and thus satisfies all unique content.
