Since you're new to TASing, JWinslow, I wouldn't recommend you do this game. The current run is tightly optimized (except for one frame, I think, which doesn't matter because of a frame rule) and people would expect your run to be as optimized as that one is. If you're looking for a game to run, pick one you play or played a lot, so you know all the tricks and glitches to run through it crazy fast. Maybe no one's done it yet. You won't know until you look.

That's what I said. Has this game been done B-less? No. Can it? I think so (even if it takes a long time)!
If I could have a tool-assisted real life, I'd... Being a novice, I'd probably load the wrong state, have the IRS AI bankrupt me, and eventually make me want to kill myself and redo 11 years of hard work.

Try it, do a couple stages of it, upload the fm2 here and post it in this thread, and check out what people think of it. An important tip: Don't rush your work. Take your time to make it look good.

Given the threads he posted on, I'd say that all the games he has played alot are coincidentally the ones with highly optimized TASes. :P

Through playing on Wii Virtual Console, I've concluded that it is indeed possible to play World 1 B-less. All the other worlds...well, I never can beat them in realtime, so I don't know.

How about, do it and show us the movie? Nothing will happen if you keep asking "Can I do this?" and never do anything.

Now I've seen everything. Try World 2 on TAS and see what happens. EDIT: AND MAKE SURE YOU'RE USING BIZHAWK.
So yea, how's it going? Currently TASing: Nothing

Or FCEUX. I don't see anything wrong with using FCEUX.

I don't see anything wrong with using FCEU. I use it all the time when I tas (Next to BizHawk, of course.)

Yea, since Bizhawk syncs so well with SMB 3. >.> Edit: Oh, and those are console verified runs, btw.

So which is more accurate, then? FCEUX or BizHawk? BizHawk should sync this game just as well, if not better.

Check this out. Not sure if it applies to 1.2, but its possible it does if NES emulation hasn't been updated yet.

Are you talking about the video? Watch the end of it. If you are talking about the latest BizHawk revision, please ignore this post.

Will sliding makes the run still acceptable?

Umm......no. The real challenge SHOULD be B-Less and Slide less.

Why? Does sliding even use the b button?

Nope, it doesn't.

Sliding would of course be allowed in a B-less run...because it doesn't use B... It would just be a creative tactic given the limitations of the goal
It's hard to look this good. My TAS projects

Is it that hard to give a link each time? Everyone does that.
Warning: When making decisions, I try to collect as much data as possible before actually deciding. I try to abstract away and see the principles behind real world events and people's opinions. I try to generalize them and turn into something clear and reusable. I hate depending on unpredictable and having to make lottery guesses. Any problem can be solved by systems thinking and acting.

So Here's an idea for a b-less walkathon: 1-1- There are no hills, so just walk and jump. Mushroom? As of right now, probably. (see Fort) 1-2- Same as any level 1-2 TAS, just walking in the begginning. Fort- Perhaps the duck and jump wall glitch could work while walking....As for the boss, Jump on him. Dont use the fire flower. 1-5-There are many hills. You figure it out. 1-6-No hills. Take the elevator going straight. Airship: I dunno if 1-up glitch is possible without B button. Jump on Larry.

Of course there is slope in 1-2. And are you talking about warpless walkathon. If yes, it will take 3 hour approximately

Hello. I thought it would be interesting to do a "small only" run of Super Mario Bros. 3. What do you think?
