• Uses cheat code to play in max difficulty.
  • Uses death to save time.
  • Play two player with only one pad.
  • Heavy luck manipulation.
  • Loses some frames to entertained (~= 235).
  • Bomberman.
In this game mode, you control 2 characters with only one GBA, you can switch player with 'select' buton.
when switching, you lose 1 frame if the input as not the same than precedent and 2 frames in the other case, it's possible to cancel this by some combinations but it deppending what you wanna do it after switching.
It's more complicated to manipulate enemies comportement than one player mode, because some enemies search to attack one of two players and this break all possibilities in some cases. At some moments, you can uses this at your advantage, but solution most uses is to let players one and two not so distanced and force enemies to come and attack those.
This TAS search to give you a best time, but I volontary lose some frames to entertain and if it's not the case I'm not sorry!
Let's go to kick asses ! ho and... Merry Christmas.

ThunderAxe31: Claiming for judging.
ThunderAxe31: This is an interesting and cool game mode. Note that it adds an extra fight at the end that doesn't affect the game ending in any way, so the player decided to commit suicide for speed.
I can see this movie is very optimized, not doubts. It also beats the main game mode by a lot. Accepting as a new branch.
Note for the publisher: the branch label seems to need some touchups. If unsure, consult feos.
fsvgm777: Processing. I've also replaced the branch with how the mode is called in-game (1P Double Dragon Game)

"2P with 1 GBA %" I don't think I've ever seen a more word-salady branch name on a submission before. Beg pardon for sounding like Spikestuff here, but you're gonna have to justify why "2P" on its own isn't good enough...

It would be more around the lines of "Why didn't you use GBAHawk? It supports GBA Link so you can do an actual 2 player mode."

The 2 Player 1 Controller mode can be considered its own unique challenge since it's basically doing a 2 player run but half the buttons aren't available. It would lead to its own optimization challenges with regards to movement options and enemy manipulations compared to being able to fully control both characters at once independently.

Wish there was an encode. Sounds like an interesting idea. Was this usual for gba games to switch characters like this?

Sorry. Busy Friday UPD: the temp encode has done its job. Deleted it
TASing is like making a film: only the best takes are shown in the final movie.

Not sure why you apologized, but thanks for the encode! Yea this was a great and entertaining tas. I was a fan of the original tas here https://tasvideos.org/4362M , but this was even better! Easy yes vote. Could you explain a little bit more about the various strategies and tricks involved with 2 players?

That actually turned out to be an interesting gimmick to watch, knowing you had to juggle enemies while only controlling one player per frame at a time. Otherwise it would just be another normal 2P run of a game.
