As for frame skipping, no, there's no way, unless you actually watch the wip up to frame 40000 and then make a savestate there.
making savestates are actually a very bad idea for Majora's Mask; they very rarely synch with the next WIP. I just start from the very beginning with Rice 6.1.1 (which never desynchs on me) put it on 300% speed, and leave it on and wait for it to get to where Mukki last left off.

I've played up until before the ranch bomb hovers. The time is 5:00am on the first day. For the redo I'll take out the SoDT and then play ISoT immeadiately before the Goron race (the latest point). If it doesn't work out then I'll keep pushing it back until it does. I've managed to manipulate enough rupees to allow me to skip out collecting the 20 from the chest at the far end of Termina Field and also a bunch of bomb drops have been manipulated. In Snowhead Temple I'll fix the Wizzrobe fights and test the above suggested method. I'll post a WIP when I feel I have something worth showing as most of what I'm doing is just what I've been doing since February. So without further delay, redoing from Pirate's Fortress :'(

Well, good luck. I didn't think the time would be this tight. I wonder how DLH managed it, then... Supposedly he's up to the GBT or Stone Tower on his seg'd run. Well, at any rate, until the next WIP, here's more MM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KYN1yAjcdBQ

Um... i don't know if this was discussed (and i'm newbie with this game' speedrun), but i need help with the jump from the plataform Flower into the back entrance of Deku Palace... (where the monkey is prisoner ^^U). Can anyone explain to me how to do this ?? I only get it 2 times. Y_Y. (Is the only part [for now] where i waste time till the plataform rises up to research the entrance)

I knew I'd forgotten something. Here you go. It's pretty poor quality because the area is very dark and I did this quite quickly but you get the idea. It is 4 seconds faster than the WR but I think I could take a tiny bit off. I tried tidying up in a few places but this changed the other Goron's movements and it always ended up being slower so I can't guarantee a bigger improvement. http://files.filefront.com//;7826701;;/ As for the redo, I managed to get back to Snowhead saving 11.5 seconds through removing SoDT. I'll try and get back on this soon but I need to rake together more motivation from somewhere before I do the Lullabye Skip again. Hopefully this won't take too long and I'll be TASing new ground within the next month or two. Edit -- The embedded flash doesn't seem to be working so you'll just have to download it normally I'm afraid :(

Not very much at all. This is because I've encoutered some technical difficulty with my laptop. The difficulty being that it no longer switches on. Until this has been resolved I cannot progress with the run. Hopefully I'll be able to get someone to fix it soon.

You have to Goron Bomb jump onto the wall, deku backflip onto the platform and hover to the next platform then hover to the backdoor. Also, I'm unsure of your context. Are you playing real time, or is this TAS? Are you attempting to improve my movie?

i'm trying a Speedrun without TAS (yes, i'm crazy but [for me] it's funnyest. XDDD). About my post, i'm trying to do the last jump (min 01:00). That's the only part that i can't do perfectly and i must await till the Deku plataform rises up a bit to jump into the plataform. U_U.

It's tricky since the camera stays in zoomed out view, so you must turn the analog stick while in the flower to face the platform(just guess), fly to the edge, and press A to grab on as soon as you hit the edge. He should land right on the platform if done correctly.

IIRC, you don't really grab on to the platform, the game just places you on it. Makes the jump a little harder.

Yep, my mistake, I shouldn't have said grab since he actually doesn't.

You have to move the stick while in the flower, and turn yourself in the direction of the platform before popping out. Or try this: Before diving into the flower, face link in the direction of the platform, then you won't need to guess since you'll already be facing it. Now once you near the corner of the platform, he should land right on it, and you don't have to press A I'm pretty sure.

Wow, i can do it now. It's much more easy that seems on videos.

As of tomorrow I'm away on holiday for a couple of weeks. I won't taking my laptop with me, of course, especially since I only got it repaired a few days ago (it never switched on because the motherboard needed replaced). Therefore there will be no progress on the run within that time. Here is everything I have so far: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1477593055/Zelda%20Majora%27s%20Mask%20TAS.m64 This goes up until the end of the first set of Lullaby skip bomb hovers (the last one desyncs, I know, but it's easily fixed so it is effectively done). There is nothing really new here; hex-editing never worked (I never got my hopes up anyway so I didn't mind) and copying the input just became tedious and boring, especially with the amount of luck manipulation in this part of the game. I decided to just play again as normal making sure I never dropped any frames. I did a couple of things ever so slightly differently but I was unable to save anything more than a frame or two here and there. The only real improvement is that I start the first set of hovers further away which means I can use a more optimal pattern of explosives finishing with a backflip onto the ledge rather than a sidehop. It looks cleaner and saves a little time (it would also appear as if I saved a bomb, although since it desynced I may have not). The redo isn't being as stubborn as I expected and it's working a lot more nicely for me this time. I should be able to get the rest of it done soon after I come back. After that, with so many tantalizing parts coming up (Romani Ranch, Woodfall 2, Pirate's Fortress 2) I should resume the good pace I had at the start of the year.

I'll be damned if majora's mask isn't one of the most twitchy games to get playing. For those who haven't been following the thread, to get the movie to play in mupen: 1: Load The Legend of Zelda - Majora's Mask (U) [!] rom 2: let the movie play up until the screen where you choose your name (only a few seconds), and let it desync 3: close the rom, and open it again 4: load the movie, and enjoy Now, if you've already played the game or have watched a previous WIP or something, when you load the rom you'll probably start in clock town on the second day or something like that. In that case, you need to go into the mupen folder, into the save folder, and delete the majora's mask save there (for me it appears as a winamp file - dunno), and then follow the steps above. I hope that covers it. I'm going to watch the movie to make sure that Rice's doesn't actually make the whole thing go to hell and desync after the first few minutes edit: just got a desync, switching to jabo's. edit: desync with jabo's, trying rice's again EDIT: silly me using 1.6. I should have learned my lesson by now and just have used 1.52 like it says I should. /sigh

Its much easier just to delete the save file ingame there and then.

BTW, try other versions of Rice's if that doesn't work. Most people here seem to get the best results with 6.1.0, but I can only get it to sync with 6.0.0, so you may want to try both if you haven't already. Incidentally, even though Mukki made this with Jabo's 1.5.2, it desyncs for me with that plugin.

Could someone make a save state just after the very first bomb-boost-slide? That's where I always get a desynch, maybe it will work later on, haven't been able to try it so.. =P. It would be appreciated.
