Get the latest movie file here: http://www.freewebs.com/aqfaq/ninjahumans.zip (All 80 levels in ~43 minutes) ROM: Humans, The (U) [!] EDIT: I updated the file. 6 levels are now done. See for yourself. EDIT-2: I started from the beginning and optimized the first 10 levels. It's impossible to beat these times. The file above is updated. EDIT-3: 18 levels are done now. Enjoy the crazy tricks. EDIT-4: The first 18 levels are redone 40 seconds faster! Also, I finally managed to finish level 19 which was the hardest so far. The file above is updated. Any comments would be awesome. EDIT-5: 30 levels done and WIP updated. EDIT-6: 38 levels done and WIP updated. I've been stuck in level 39 for some time now. EDIT-7: 57 levels done, WIP updated. EDIT-8: Secret update. 70 levels done and ninjahumas.zip updated as a backup copy. EDIT-9: All levels done. I still need to add some style here and there. Hopefully the polished version is ready in a few days. This is a secret update too. I bet nobody saw it.

Is this the game with cavemen and it's puzzle-like? I played this game for PC years ago and I remembered it to be really hard but yet very funny! I guess that that's the WIP? If it is this game I hope you finish the run ;)

You should watch the file and THEN ask the questions... ;)

Heh, yeah that might be true, but on the other hand it can be easier to ask questions first. Also, I don't have the Gen-emulator and I won't get it because I don't really know that many Genesis games. I'm more of a NES-person. Oh well, I still hope it is that game though ;)

Did you know that the humans can levitate in that game? I believe this document shows the first time any human player on Earth has done it: http://www.freewebs.com/aqfaq/humansdiscoverlevitation.gmv

I did not know that. Hmm, isn't it sort of like Lemmings also? That each human (or if it is only one) has a few abilites for each new level, like placing out ladders or something like that? While avoiding evil beasts and stuff like that.

Wow, very nice work. My friend had this game and if I recall correctly managing things got to be pretty ridiculous later on. I'm loving the glitches you've found so far, keep up the great work! (But maybe don't scroll through the different options really quickly like you did in parts of level 3...)

It seems that this is my main project now and may even be finished before the end of the year. I'll edit the first post of this thread every time I update the ninjahumans.gmv. BTW, that levitation bug is not the only one I've found. The final movie will be awesome. :)

Then you're really missing out. Gens is the best emulator on the site IMO.

I'm sorry for you. I had so much trouble with collecting the coins in that game that I needed something else for a change. Also, I'm not very satisfied because the result will have no suprising erros and planning how to use magic optimally is very painful. Doing Humans is much more entertaining and buggier and I can concentrate on single levels rather than plan a long route through the whole game. I believe you'll be enjoying this movie too. :)

I'd say it's closer to Lost Vikings than Lemmings, myself, but it's a very nice WIP. Also, I too like Gens better than any of the other emulators.

Yeah, closer to Lost Vikings than Lemmings. If only you could handle more than one human at a time... I've done 12 (of 80) levels now, but one level must be redone because the extensively used "infinite climbing" trick involves killing a human which means Game Over at level 12. I continue doing the movie when EME has copy/paste feature. Gens is my favorite emulator at the moment and there are many good games that are not timed yet.

I've found a serious improvement. Many levels need to be redone. I'll probably never get this movie finished.

It's been a while, but I replayed my current WIP and got excited again. --- Here are some news: 1) Grabbing a ladder while walking past it saves 3 frames. I counted about 16 spots where this "classic" timesaver was ignored. 2) Hex-editing levels together does not work perfectly, because the climbing trick is vulnerable to desync. 3) Level 20 and 26 routes might not be the fastest possible. --- Some re-re-re-recording and hex-editing needs to be done before I can continue with the next level (39). If you enjoy bugs and crazy movies, now would be a good time to check the progress so far. Bonus points to all who find mistakes in the movie!

The movie link at the top opens a new page, then brings you here again, so I am currently unable to DL the WIP. Rightclick-saveas doesn't work either, just checked it out.

The hex-editing is done: - Level 20 was improved by 4 seconds. - Various levels were slightly improved with the ladder-grabbing trick. - Total improvement is 370 frames. - It was fun. Now I'm at level 39, once again.
