Game & Run Overview

  • This title was released by the major Japanese corporation, Itochu Corporation” in 1997.(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Itochu )
    • However, it is a highly obscure title virtually unknown even to the Japanese public, and the company has likely buried it as a piece of 'dark history.' You won't find any mention of it on either their official website or Wikipedia.
    • While the BGM is fantastic and the voice-acting cast—featuring Ryo Horikawa as the protagonist—is exceptionally star-studded, the notoriously high encounter rate and extreme difficulty have earned it a reputation in Japan as a "Kusoge with great audio."
  • Features 3D dungeon-crawler movement despite being a fighting game.
    • Map movement has been optimized down to the frame.
  • Includes RPG elements like equipping gear and upgrading max HP.
    • However, since this run takes the absolute shortest route, these elements are completely skipped.
  • In preparation for submission to TASvideos, I managed to reduce the playtime by approximately 1,500 frames compared to my initial version.
    • In addition to overall optimizations, I implemented a minor time-saving trick not seen in this YouTube video: pressing an alarm switch and a directional key simultaneously.
    • Because I changed the strategy for defeating the boss in Scene 1, the subsequent RNG shifted entirely, forcing me to re-record everything from scratch.
    • Since this YouTube video shows my initial TAS and was created using the "SCPH-77000" BIOS, I did not submit this specific run to TASvideos.
      • The 77000 model launches games approximately 540 frames faster than the submission-standard SCPH-5500.

why is this 100% category? isn't beating the final boss the normal goal? tas and game choice are great by the way!
I want all good TAS inside TASvideos, it's my motto. TAS i'm interested: Megaman series, specially the RPGs! Where is the mmbn1 all chips TAS we deserve? Where is the Command Mission TAS? i'm slowly moving away from TASing fighting games for speed, maybe it's time to start finding some entertainment value in TASing.

I apologize. I have changed it to Any%. Do we really need a video for collecting all the gear? If you guys think it’s a good idea, I’ll look into it. But honestly, nothing happens even if you get them all, so the movie might not be that exciting.

This is really funny with yeeting the enemies out of most battles or stun locking them. This feels like a game made by a company that moved from PC games to console. Great audio and some nice visuals here and there, but the fighting part of it is quite bad.
